what is the actual problem, no spark or no lights, being an alpina?

if no spark look at points, condenser, coil under tank and all wiring in between. if its electronic motoplat, suspect the coil under the tank.

this month in old bike mart there is an article about villiers services being able to re-magnetise fly wheels, you seem to have contradicted this piece of journalism.

regards stan.

If it is a M212 or M213, yes it mat be the flywheel magnets. Had a faulty flywheel on a new M212 (intermittent starting) and have since known of two others. Best to borrow another flywheel to try, doesn't have to be an alpina one.

Yes it's a week spark,I had motoplat uk check stator and coil and alls ok,but he can't do the flywheel,I saw the add for villiers spares I rang but the need a special machine to do motoplats because the magnet poles aren't the same so I have to wait and ring back in a few weeks, there is one thing I can check is by bolting the coil to the engine,to see if there is a fault with the earth from frame to engine, concerning the flywheel, bultaco uk said that different sized engines had different weighted flywheels so would be good to try one but nearly all on ebay are in the US and the postage is to much to take a chance on a used flywheel, for other .

Remagnatizing doesn't cost much it's just finding someone who does motoplats cheers andy

I don't know if it is the same thing, but North Leicester Motorcycles do a 're-magnetizing service' for Morini's which use I think a magneto/alternator stator type arrangement. (Ducati electronicca, poss). May be worth asking them?
