Hi,

There are some ignition kits available on the market. I would like to choose one of those for my BSA B40 Trials version, which is under construction. This will be the real thing with specially designed light oif frame, alloy hubs, lightened engine, etc.

Has somebody any experiences which one PVL or Rex Caunt or Electrexworld or some other is a good choice ?

Best regards

Hi B40rt,

Thanks, I want to avoid also an alternator so that I can use magneto ignition without a battery. You have alternator to produce current to extra capacitor to be able to manage without the battery. I think it is a reliable solution for motocross (like B50), but does it gives a good spark for trial version engine when the revs are around 400 rpm. Maybe.

Any other experiences?

Hi

I have Rex Caunt and PVL (on different machines) - both good - no problems.

Good low speed output on both, in my opinion, better than the Boyer alternator, zenor and capacitor system.

Just make sure the supplier knows it's for trials.

You seem to know the score with electronic ignition anyway.

Regards

The Boyer Bransden doesn't use a Zenor diode, capacitor, rectifier or battery! It just uses your existing Lucas rotor and alternator coil to produce the power with a small black box and external coil. Check it out here http://www.trialsbits.co.uk/index.php?cPath=85_243&sort=2a&page=1 Just make sure that you have good magnetism on the rotor.
