I have a 2013 factory replica that has an exhaust leak from the muffler at the joint between the body and end cap.

Any one else come across this? Any suggestions for a fix? Bike has about 5 hours use and about 6 months old.

50:1 is way too much, hence the excess oil thats not burnt off, I put 75ml to 5 litre and never have issues. You could take the bike for a top gear ride for some distance and this should burn out the oil or if that fails its a repack the rear.

Nothing wrong with the bike and you can maintain the exhaust on a GasGas unlike some bikes. Stick with it and learn more about the bike as it seems dealer has little knowledge about the bike.

Hi Mark,

I think your bike has the plastic rear half of the silencer. Not the best design decision IMHO. A friend in the club had the rear half melt off during the Funny Rocks trial this year. He said the metal replacement part is on back order and his dealer told him "many people are waiting for them."

Some high temp silicone sealer should take care of any small leaks in the joint.

On the oil mix, many people suggest running rich or using higher oil percentage during break in. Then lean it out or reduce the oil percent after break in. I agree with Smalley, 80:1 is a better ratio for the bike post break in.

@lineaway - 50:1 as recommended by the dealer.

Oil isn't coming out as yet it is just blowing exhaust out and is noisy. Not what you would expect from a $9000 bike. Definitely my last gasgas.

That`s funny, what till that thing really breaks. Gassers ride real well, but they have some issues still. The exhaust is not one of the problems.

Beta sherco scorpa and gas gas now fit plastic end caps to the silencer. You'll be needing a 4rt if this design point is unacceptable. The later Gas Gas models use a different metal for the exit pipe which doesn't transfer as much heat and wont melt the plastic. Gas Gas issued the new pipe at the 2013 ssdt to competitors and its been std since the 2013 factory model.
