its running stadard del carb, it it worth trying to set this up perfectly or is a carb upgrade a better option?

also is it possible to convert to fat bars without having to buy expensive new top yoke clamp?

Most knocking is the bottom of the piston slapping against the bottom of the sleeve, because they have 3 rings it holds the top of the piston but the bottom does tend to slap

Sandifords do the piston and all gaskets for £140

For a starting place on the Showa forks turn the clickers full out (CCW). Also a PO may have put the wrong oil in the forks, or too much. The oil for the right leg should be cartridge fork oil, a very thin oil. Showa SS05 or Honda SS05 fork fluid or similar. No cartridge in the left leg so the oil just lubes the bushings. The level in both legs determines the resistance to bottoming, standard level is 39mm from the top with the fork fully compressed.

The Owner's Manual covers all of the above.
