First of all----- It runs!. Put the new OKO on tonight and started first prod. Seems to be set up OK but I guess I need to ride it to really find out. The real question is what can I use to seal the air box to cover in the 183 model ? The original rubber is rotted away and I can't find a suitable replacement, any suggestions ?

You could try some hose cut along a line on one side, auto fuel line or windscreen washer line or go to a nic-nacs style of shop and see if they have anything. Or use the rubber to hold flyscreens in place. Any hose or rubber pipe you will have to cut a line with a Stanley knife in a straight line all the way to go over the edge of the airbox. Any small hose or pipe made from plastic or rubber will work. Or you could just glue some foam to the inside of the airbox cover. Graham.

I did not find this type filter very good on my 175 bultaco as dirt was found past the filter in the air box This was changed after a few trials when the bike was new for a twin airfilter The type where the inlet hose (to the carb) is part of the filter. Did the same to a 250 I had The 175 runs ok and the motor has never had the head off yet

Vic,The most important is to have the filter material large enough to

make a good seal when all parts are in & tightened up.

Graham is giving you good help.

From pictures of works riders & others using 199s this was the air box

of choice (fiberglass rather than plastic). Be sure to check your air hose

as they are prone to splitting.

The best fix is as naichuff uses if you can get a fit for your air box.

This is probably the best air box going IMHO.

There are round rubber seals with a notch, I got mine from fleabay, they do sell also to the european countrys,

you will get around three meters depending to the diameter for between 4 to 16 Euro!

I have too bought some for my 199b, repairing the rubber to the little plate that sits between airbox and seat and needed a similar round rubber seal. Might have a pic somewhere ...

Anyway here you get a round foam-rubber seal with 10mm 3 meters and 8mm in diameter (4,95 Euro for 3m):

Here with 11mm in diameter (16,05 €uro for 3m):

Get good special glue that is really suitable for attaching foam-rubber!
