Hi guys, I rang Carol Nash today to insure my non road registered Beta Evo 200 2013, the girl asked if it was in a garage or shed i said it was in a 17 x 9 foot breeze block shed, she asked if i could get a car in to which i replied no as it only has a pedestrian sized door which is of steel construction, she said the underwriter would not accept the building as it was not classed as a garage.........Help!

i'm having the same problem, you would think that it would go better for you with not having a garage door, they are the most unsafe type of door their is, my bike is in a brick shed with a concrete flat roof, no windows, i replaced the ledge and brace door for a 1 hour fire door with anti lift bolts so you can't remove the pin from the hinges and my friend made me a ground anchor so it's chained to the concrete floor but still the answer was no, i am considering getting it road legal so then it will be covered by fire and theft but still i would hate the thought of somebody steeling my much loved bike so if you get any luck please get in touch with me and i will do the same.

Crazy situation with Carol Nash. I have insured my classic road bikes with them for nearly 20 years and can't remember them ever specifying where or what type of over night storage I use. I've always lived in London and for many years I had a wooden garden shed in my back garden and they never minded. Guess it's all changed.

Have you tried this lot?...
