Gas Gas TXT 250 2001

Recently went with a friend for my first taste of trials riding and caught the bug - so just bought my first bike (trials bike that is ) which i think now completes my collection

BMW GS1200r - Long Trips

Bonneville T100 - Summer only short slow trips

Yamaha TTR 250 - Green Lanes

So hello - i think i may be on here quite a bit over the next few weeks but thought i would get all the silly questions out of the way, so here goes.

1 - Fuel tap. Has no markings, can anyone tell me whats on off and reserve positions. Yes i know i can take the pipe off and work it out but a, its dark and b, its cold

2,- I only have half a clutch lever - anyone recommend a good cheap replacement , i may spend more later but for the first few im going to break cheap ones.

3 - Where is good for general spares online

4 - Front disk has some play as though not tightened properly but it looks like the washers around the nut probably were meat to allow it to move or perhaps should have some rubber mount or something - any advice

Thanks

I have found the best place for parts is Splatshop in terms of service and getting the right bits to you fast 1st time. Be careful with the postage prices with some of the other dealers.

The front disk is meant to move and rattle around quite a bit, It's what is know as a floating disk and normally only fitted to trials machines so it's a common question from people who have just brought their 1st trials bike.

Clutch and brake levers - leave the clamp bolts a tiny bit loose - just enough so that they will move in a crash, but not under general use...

They will then give when you crash, moving the assembly round the handlebar, rather than snap the levers...simple to then move back when you have recovered!
