If it's not broken .........................

It's a Montesa (Honda) = broken aint in the vocabulary.

New would be nice but back and front end are 15 years old and still best in the business. Bit in the middle is 10 years old but bangs out the results at all but the very highest level in std form. Cosmetics and stickers is in reality all it needs for majority of riders

The latest bikes 2014/2015 that everybody has got back on are not a million miles from the unfashionable/heavy/uncompetitive older versions that everybody moved away from.

Maybe we have reached the reliability/performance/cost fulcrum.

You can have more of any one but only at the expense of the other. I guess you pays your money and makes your choice!!!

I'm sure if they would make a second model with a fuel injected two stroke engine, they would have a best seller.

I would also like a larger fuel tank for my 2015.

My view is that the 4RT could do with a few changes

Have a car type alternator (electrically) and car type ignition system with small battery and OBD II compatibility.

Better side stand

Larger fuel tank

Replace mechanical water pump with electric pump and simplify the plumbing.

Wrap round close fitting sump guard as per RTLs.

Tidy up some of the brackets and lighten the fasteners.

Point the exhaust exit down at the ground.

Why add weight with a battery?

Bike's electrics & starting is fine as it is, thanks

I think Manufacturers have peaked when it comes to losing weight and tech. you can realistically take the next step and bung in loads of Carbon and Titanium really. but it just would be unaffordable to 80% of new buyers. Ive spent a grand on my new 4RT and it hasn't made it any lighter or a better ride, just a more of a bling ride.

I will look at the 16 model which I have been told are Frame changes and Lighter engine from a dealership.

Have a look at a 08 to 15 beta. is it really so different and much lighter that its earlier counterparts?

All you seem to get is a roundabout of upgrades. this year you have tech fork. next year you have showa. after that it will be tech again..etc etc

I reckon you could make it a bit more pre 65....

Needs a total overhaul.... Frame, engine the lot! Can't see it happening myself. Back to the 2smoker!
