The Mendip hills in the sunshine and a friendly crew at the helm. Sections to allow real bikes to show what they do best, don't see many pre-unit and rigid bikes these days so a joy to see - Ariels, Nortons, AJS's, Matchless as well as Greeves, Cub's, Bantam's, Sprite and C15's and c40's. Sadly my input from Somerton was lost when Gordon Francis died, together we reported regularly on their events - which were always top notch - a real credit to the sport. But surely all is not lost? If anyone has digital photographs, preferably three-quarters or side on views (simply 'cos when you've seen one head on shot of a front tyre, teles and handlebar you've seen the lot!) then please drop me an email to 'offroarchive@gmail.com' and we will get a full feature of the Somerton Classic trials in to ORRe - the digital magazine that supports classic events. Don't worry about any technicalites, just let me see your basic images and I'll do all the clever photoshop stuff - or even advise you on how to get the best results from your camera - if that would help.
