My recently acquired Cota 200 has the frame number MH200 00044

I cannot find any engine number. I assume the H is a reference to the

Honda involvement but what year I would like to know.

I am also curious as to the actual CC of the "200" engine

Hi, Red tank MH200 were made around 83-84, the Blanco was made 80-late 82, the engine number is usually stamped on the clutch side casing at the top and shold start MH rather than 29M. Only real difference was a different front wheel on the MH model, early 200 Cota also had the MK1 Amal carb, not the flatside MK2 on the 200C & MH200. I have a parts manual for the 200 Cota if any use to you? Cheers, Mark

Thanks for the parts manual offer Mark might take you up on that sometime

I think I will be replacing crank seals thru time  as the engines a bit smokey !!

Interested to see although frame is MH engine number is not it is 29M 02334

I rode thru Bakewell many times on my 1947 BSA 350 B32 when I was stationed

at Market Drayton in the RAF (1950s) Just a bit too far for me now Im afraid

Pity not to compare Cota 200s Did I mentioned Ive been out of the saddle 30 years !!!
