Has anybody been able to source a stiffer front fork spring for the 39mm Tech fork that the 2015 Sherco trials bikes come with??

I've been looking in Canada and the US and have come up dry so far...

Anybody with any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

I have zero ideas, but I'm curious how much you weigh (if that's not too indelicate of a question) that you think you need new springs. You might be able to get by with cutting a small pvc spacer, but I wouldn't add one that's more than maybe half an inch or so.

Custom made springs aren't very expensive, I've used springcoil.co.uk for fork springs but there are a few companies around so there may be one local to you. You may have to send them a standard spring as a sample.

heffergm - I weigh 220 lbs with gear.  Thanks for the idea about the additional pvc to increase the preload slightly.  Great tip - hadn't thought of that. The fork isn't incredibly soft, but I do lots of "adventure" type rides on the bike and some of the downhills are pretty long and pretty steep with horribly abrupt transitions.  I bottom fairly frequently on the harsh transitions.  I also sit well into the travel (30% - 35% sag) and am looking to obtain something a little closer to the 1/6 of your travel I've been reading about online.

For traditional trials riding the fork performs quite well - just need a little more for those days where I ride straight up and down the mountain..... ;)

totty79 - Hadn't thought of the custom spring idea yet either.  I can contact some local suspension shops - thank you.

I've got allot of the same issue, I have RMR suspension in BC looking in to what they can do for me. I have the Factory edition with an Ohlins rear shock and TECH 39mm Aluminum forks. They have contacted Ohlins but have not heard back from them as yet. Last time I talked to they they were having a tough time getting answers.

Like "copemech" mentioned http://www.splatshop.co.uk/ohlins-rear-shock-absorber.htmlhas information on the rear shock, I have not looked any further to see what they have for forks.

cacao  putting more oil in than spec will only make the forks hydraulic lock and take away from the initial fork stroke length.  :wall:

Not if it is just a bit more oil, yet the thicker oil on the left fork may work better.

Whitch base settings people recomend me for '15 Sherco tech forks?

Coil Preload?

Rebound?

And the compression end stroke adjustment on bottom of the fork?  :chairfall:

I'm a 70kg benigner trying to hop better.
