If you can get a Mahle piston, that would be great.

A GG piston has the piston ring pegs in the "wrong" location for use on the Bultaco.

In Motion would be able to help with a piston.

Hi bondy,

Do you have the inlet skirt height dimension for a 325 M199.

From where is the measurement made, the top of the piston ring that is flush with the crown?

Would you have access to the port timing details in relation to degrees before/after top dead centre?

I ask this as someone has modified the ports with a die grinder.

Bye, Peter B.

Sorry I didn't do the work on the piston am sure some 1 will know. I will check the new 325 skirt as this is a spare piston still in the original box.

Hi Peter

Just happened to have a m199 piston handy, it measures 2.500 inches from the top EDGE of the piston to the bottom

of the skirt on the inlet side.

I  have torn down several M199s & for the most part the exhaust side is the same as inlet. ( All have been Mahles) (my personal choice

when available.

Good fortune the Pursang pistons only need the boost port holes added.

oh yes the port holes need to be put in as Larry says sory forgot to mention that. the guy that did mine had a special template to drill the port holes in my persang piston witch are perfect.

NOS Mahle pistons are best if you can get one, but I recently obtained a newish one for a M180 and the boss had to be filed out to enable the thrust washers to fit. It also did not have drilled oilways in the bosses but had off square ends instead.
