Sad news of the death of Mick Rock, who lost his life in a motorcycle accident near Shiptonthorpe last Thursday afternoon, 6th. April.

Mick was Vice-President of Huddersfield Falcons, a Vice-President of the ACU Yorkshire Centre, and an enthusiastic clubman rider, organiser and friend to many.

A Falcon member for over 15 years he first joined the Spen Valley club some 25 years ago, leading also to him getting involved in organising trials at B.U.M.P.Y. alongside Bill Swallow.

Starting out as a Fitter with the NCB Mick later worked for various Engineering companies and liked nothing better than tinkering with bikes himself, having a "stable" of some 4 or 5 bikes for road and off-road use, including a Honda TLR 125 that he had recently acquired to enter Classic trial events.

Alongside his Wife, Catherine, he was particularly looking forward to supporting Falcon Club members riding in the forthcoming Scottish Pre65 and Six Day Trial events; our heartfelt condolences go out to Catherine and close-family.

Michael's funeral will be held at 1.45pm,  Monday 24th April at:-

Denroyd Farm

Upper Denby

Huddersfield

HD8 8TZ

Anyone following the cortège by motorcycle should meet at his house, 56 Carr Hill Road, Upper Cumberworth, Huddersfield HD8 8XN, at 1.15pm- if you are following with a trials bike your 4x4, vans, etc can be parked at Denroyd farm first; otherwise can everyone else please go directly to Denroyd Farm.

The service will be followed by a celebration of Michael's life. Catherine hopes you will all be able to stay to chat and socialise as Michael would have done. If you are working, please come after work and those of you with children, please bring them back after school as you know how much Michael loved to be with them.

No flowers please.

A collection will be made for BUMPY (Birstall Urban Motorcycle Project for Youth).

Very sad, trials as we know it,only exists because of people like Michael.

It has been a absolute pleasure knowing you. Rest in Peace and I am sure you will clean all the sections in the Sky for many years to come.
