Convert a beta 125 to a 200 or 250

If you’re thinking about the SSDT, the Beta 125 is a great bike and more than capable of completing the event. I know a few youths who have finished the SSDT and Scott trials on Beta 125s with excellent results. If you’re looking at increasing the capacity after the event, it’s much easier and more cost effective to sell the 125 and buy a bigger bike. You could also look at hiring a 125, but it isn’t cheap, and you get little time on the bike before the event.

You can't convert the 125 Beta to any other capacity easily because the stroke of the 125 crankshaft is 54.5mm, whereas the 200, 250 & 300 are 60.5mm.

So if the barrel would fit into the crankcase, you would still have to fit a different crankshaft etc..

Probably much easier and cheaper to sell it and buy a larger capacity bike if that's what you want.

Take the jug to your favorite machinist, find your max overbore, and wrist pin size.  Call Mahle Forged Pistons and order your custom pistons and rings. Depending on the size of the bore, they may have the piston sitting on the shelf from other applications.

The end result will be all bore and no stroke change which results in better bottem performance.
