No more or less than all the other guys that do the exact same thing... sometimes it's called, sometimes it isn't. But again, this is the fault of the rules. If we haven't figured out by all the arguing and debate that goes on regarding whether it was or wasn't a stop that these rules suck, I give up.

The rules are quite simple, which bit don't you understand ????

They all stop in pretty much every section now which just makes the no stop 'rule' a massive farce. everyone knows it and the poor old observers have to police it - with seemingly zero support / back up from Trial GP Sport7

To the letters of the rules yes, clear stop and clear 5 in that section. Assuming every rider is marked to the same 'rule' then its all good (although more farcical) as you said Martyn got away with that stop but 5'd the step. Had he got up then yes he'd have 'got away' with a stop.

The rules are only half of the equation however,  organisers insist on putting in sections which require stopping. The riders and observers then have to make the best of it.

If the sport , and I mean all of us,  think this is the only way to take marks and it's the style of section that riders and spectators want then change the rules.

@b40rt has a point however,  it's always going to be a matter of judgement just like a referee in football regardless of which rules are used. The objective,  from a fairness point of view,  is to reduce the amount of judgement required

Go watch all the YouTube video you can stand of the Spanish and Japanese national championships. Time limit once you enter, do anything you want in the section (short of the obvious stuff, like go backwards through a gate, etc). Stop, back up, whatever. It's fantastic.
