I know it is a very long shot but does anyone have a kickstart shaft for the Italjet 6 speed trials of late 70's early 80's.
or is there a way to modify one from another bike.
(For those who do not know this was the major problem with this bike.... something of an Achillies heel)

You are correct-always the problem.
If you are in Europe, I suggest you look for someone who wrecks Italian bikes as the gear box, ignition and motor cases etc were all taken from ( I think ) a Mineralli of the the time, with a copy of the Sherpa Barrel & head grafted on top
Otherwise, find a good machine shop
Good luck !!!

Dave Renham at Bultaco Uk 01784 440033 Has a used 250 Italjet engine in his worshop with a kick start shaft in, he wouldn't split the engine but I'm sure he would sell the engine.........
