I thought id give enduro a try so I bought a 2001 Yamaha wr 426f privately second day out riding it and it made a big screech and a rattle ...now look its wrecked at least £350 AT LEAST! for the parts now

Hi all
I thought id give enduro a try so I bought a 2001 Yamaha wr 426f privately second day out riding it and it made a big screech and a rattle ...now look its wrecked at least £350 AT LEAST! for the parts now

VERY lucky it wasnt a KTM or you can add a 0 on to the end of that number.
Have you pulled the engine out yet?
Did the seller warn of any problems?

Hmm i tried to post a picture of the damage but the photos too big....anyway its droped a valve needs three new valves (about £40 each) new piston..intake cam maybe a new cylinder head and all the various shims seals etc 
I was really enjoying it before that happened!

Not too good then! Should have got a 2 stroke! much more simple just not as beefy

Dude, i thought the titanium valves in those were £100 each !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
