  1. Hi all i have been offered a fantic 205 monoshock thats in pretty good condition, when i went to look at it i noticed its a forward kick motor with sprockets on the right hand side similar to a twinshock pro engine? Just wondered if its the same engine and if so whats its value? was thinking of buying it to break to help someone out with a twinshock project. Also is it a 156 motor?
  2. Do you think this will work on gas gas renowned for clutch drag? I'm not familiar with beta and sherco clutch systems but know the gas gas is it's own unique ( pain in the ar*e)system
  3. I used some garden hose on mine and heated it up with a paint stripping gun till it was soft enough to stretch around the bend on the kickstart once it cooled and set it stayed there nice.
  4. Hi all been having a problem with my 03 250 pro loosing it's spark, I started a while ago now where it might cut out half way round a trial it would loose spark for a few mins and then go again it's got to the stage now where it will run for about 10 mins then loose spark for about 10mins before going again and so on. I have changed plug kill switch, checked all wiring and connectors etc even moved it all around while bikes running but have no joy finding problem. It only ever cuts out on low revs and feels although I've stalled it. Does anyone know of if it could be stator, ignition coil or cdi and how to check these accurately. Thanks Jon
  5. Can anyone tell me what the resistance readings for the coil and the stator coils on my 250 txt pro should be?
  6. Hi all after a long time of reliability my 03 250 pro has developed a running problem. Seems to cut out at random feels asthough ive stalled it when it does however when its cuts out it looses spark and does so for roughly 10mins and will not spark again for roughly the same time. Its not the plug as ive been taking a spare to trials with me however its getting quite unreliable now. Anybody got any ideas as to what this can be? I have tried removeing tank checking all wiring for defects and made sure all plugs etc are clean and have good connections, i have also run the bike with wiring all pulled out and bent wires wiggled plugs etc and runs ok. even ran in the dark to see if i could see anything shorting out but with no joy!
  7. I must say i was wrong about gas gas motos i arrived home today to find a revised dp clutch pack posted to me recorded a neighbour kindly signed for it for me. Thanks to Andy hipwell for his help however im yet to try it hopefully il get chance tommorow so fingers crossed all will be ok
  8. Has anybody found the tech department hard to deal with? Have left several messages about my clutch problem and everytime i get through to them im put on hold then after several minute s get cut off really makes your p**s boil
  9. check hieght of fingers on the clutch i would suspect your clutch pack is too thick check out gas gas clutch repair videos on you tube
  10. i have been using a raceline clutch lever i expected it would snap like a match stick for the money but took a few knocks now and been fine however i do have the res bolts pretty slack and i must say it is not a patch on an ajp lever but still doingthe job for

    DP clutch packs

Just wondering if anyone has had any problrms with dp clutch packs? I bought a new one from white bros darlington just before they shut down and when i have fitted the clutch i had an on going problem with clutch drag. The correct oil was used the clutch pack was to correct dimmensions however when bolted up into my clutch pack the fingers only raised to 15mm and they should be between 17-19mm ish. I took the whole lot to al the spanner formerly of white bros, he removed my brand new DP clutch pack and tried in a different make of clutch exact same pack thickness as my new DP one and the finger hieght went straight to 17.5mm ruleing out any other problems with my clutch set up. I have since been onto gas gas motos ltd who supplied white bros they asked me to post my clutch pack back to them which i did they have since had it 2 days with no reply when i call and ask what is happeneing i get put on hold then cut off ( really helpfull)I have left messages with no reply and now im left with a un useable bike due to the fault of a brand new part! if anyone has had this problem with these parts please let me no so i can tell gas gas motos ltd/ DP clutches and hopefully get the problem resolved
  12. I have a 03 250 pro and have been replacing slave cyclinder seals however on removing the top hat(plunger) i have found two seals the first similar to a brake piston seal and the second a standard o ring, the top seal didnt look to good so will be replaceing with new set, the spring that runs through the centre has a small steel insert in the centre of the spring aparently this is an 03 thing only and it looks asthough someone has made the one in my bike out of a nail or rivet, ground on the end and generally a bit bodgy just wondering if anyone knows what this is doing as the later models 04 onwards dont have this fitted and im wondering if i can disregard this part or if its crutial to have a new one fitted with new seal kit
  13. i believe if its a 125cc the piston will be 55mm and if its a 156cc the piston will be a 62mm. i would guess that its a b piston as in middle sized they can come in a b and c sizes just out of interest do you have a full engine number as that might tell us a bit more think my 125 starts Fantic 450 someone may correct me on that if im wrong tho
  14. sorry to sound like a fool ( i dont mind holding my hands up to being stupid) i had another look on the y tube vid and realised that the chap says " if you cant hear the click or the shifter needs lifting then adjustment is needed" so all i need to worry about now is trying to get the allen bolt of the shaft to take off the complete clutch basket. i remember looking at it when i changed the clutch plates and thinking it didnt look to clever ie, like someone had had the wrong size allen key in there before looked a bit chewed! anyone got any tips to remove this or am i safe enough tapping the closest size torques in to get a good bite on the bolt?
  15. thanks guys tried the click test the other day forgot to mention that. it seems i dont hear a click even if i lift the lever slightly after first has engaged etc. does anyone know what that means? All gears are selecting and working fine clutch pack dimmensions are within tolerance and no drag or slippage just neutral problem. i was advised by al the spanner not to use atf as it can cause clutch pack to swell causeing drag
