Wow what a great collection.
But my view is they were built to be ridden and cant help thinking its a waste just having them siting there.

I recently got back from Spain where a friend of a friend opened the door on this tasty collection. I love the bikes but i was even more interested in what makes a guy feel that he has to have and restore so many. Does he have a wife and kids ?.Amazingly yes !

#331907 Kenny The Rooster - Contains Adult Humour

Posted trialswarrior on 03 May 2013 - 12:31 AM

A monkey is sitting in a tree smoking a joint when a lizard walks past, looks up and says to the monkey "Hey, what're you doing?" The monkey replies, "Smokin' a joint, come up and have some."

So the lizard climbs up and sits next to the monkey and they smoke a few joints. After a while the lizard says his mouth is all dry and he's going to get a drink from the river. The lizard is so stoned that he leans over too far and falls into the river.

A crocodile sees this and swims over to the lizard and helps him to the side, then asks the lizard, "What's the matter with you?" The lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting up a tree with a monkey smoking some really good pot, got too stoned, and then fell into the river while trying to take a drink. The crocodile says he has to check this out and wanders into the jungle.

He finds the tree where the monkey is sitting finishing up a joint. The crocodile yells up to the monkey and says "Hey!" The monkey looks down and says,"Fuuuuuuuuuuuck Dude........How much water did you drink?!"

#331734 Results Round 3 Peak Classic Club Championship Bracken Rocks Sunday 28Th April

Posted imexian on 30 April 2013 - 09:32 PM

Great day out, good venue, as always, not been riding much at all, struggled with enthusiasm for years with modern bikes, but have a new lease of life with the twin shock fantic! Only first time I've ridden the fantic, but was most enjoyable with sections spot on for everyone. I suggest more riders dig out an older bike, you can improve them as well, unlike a modern machine, which is more than perfect for most people!

Full marks for Peak Classic Trials Club!
Regards,

Ian

When I train new riders, mostly from enduro background, one of the main skills they want to learn is how to balance and hop, its just one of the unique techniques that interests riders, I agree with an earlier comment, use the indoor rules for the outdoor, lets perfect our back up, and what ever else we can think of to make trials even more unique.

Yup, that's the problem right there.. I've seen it alot. New riders get suckered in by stop n hop. Try to use it then get frustrated and fail. They are confused by what they need to learn. Basics first then advanced stuff.

I've had to de-program several new riders. Show them the basics and the road to fun.

#331053 Rear Shocks, Which Ones?

Posted bashplate on 23 April 2013 - 06:29 AM

Emexien....how lucky are you...As stated earlyer most of us are torn between which shocks to spend our hard earned on, you already got a joice for free. They both good quality, so just play to your hearts content, in the end there maybe not a lot to separate them and you'll just end up with a spare pair on the shelf....alternatively, you could find another twin shock in need of some TLC, and fix that up too :hyper: .....and that my friend is how we all end up with a shed full of bikes, isn't life sweet :icon_salut:

Funny how it makes more sense to buy/build a bike to go with the shocks, instead of selling them !

#331025 Ossa Mar/gripper Front Sprocket Orientation.

Posted woody on 22 April 2013 - 08:55 PM

I'm also pretty sure that if you fit it with the flat side in, the chain will rub on the crankcase (or can, depending on make of chain)

As Steve says, it's not just the tab washer that is a problem with the 10 tooth sprocket, the chain can also catch the nut as well, again, maybe dependent upon the make of chain. I think the original nuts were also shouldered with a boss that kept them away from the chain. Those you buy now are flat, hence the problem. You can always space the nut out from the sprocket. Clean the threads on shaft and nut thoroughly and loctite the nut on. Shouldn't need the tab washer.

#330682 Who Thinks Non Stop Is A Good Idea

Posted borus on 17 April 2013 - 11:32 AM

just testing the EM 5.7 electric trials bike, brilliant non-stop bike, but getting back to top riders, if the FIM regulated the competition trial bike back to something that is more mainstream (as in a seat, larger tank, etc then sales would go up for the manufacturers. The bike would not be so specialized, yes Bou would win but just maybe the sections would be more appealing to the second tear riders.
