  1. I have now fitted barnett friction plates [ thanks woody] great clutch now ,fitted lighter springs ,tried different tensions ,but settled on srewing in fully and then backing out two full turns .
  2. hi ,any one had much success lightning clutch action on Mk 1 mar .I have lenghtened the actuating arm on top of the crank case , and used one of those geared type levers at the handle bar .still very heavy .
  3. Problem now resolved, i took old trials fanatic's advice and bought one from nametab.Lovely looking thing it is.Thanks for imput every one.
  4. Thanks for your interest Hewson, the problem with the original clutch is that i removed the case hardening from the basket and now the plates are creating quite deep grooves, which makes the clutch drag.
  5. hi all, has anyone any ideas on replacing the standard villiers clutch on my pre65 scramble bike,[i know not trials] .i would like to replace it with a jap one,ie conbination of the two, that will still fit inside standard castings. any views greatly appreciated.
