  1. Many thanks for the the help and suggestions. The ignition winding on the stator was found to be open circuit (once it stopped being intermittent and failed for good) I sent the faulty stator to Lampkins and a replacement was sent by return. Very pleased with their service. Chris at http://www.betastatorrewinding.co.uk/as suggested was most helpful. Dave
  2. Hi, My lads 2014 125 decided to stop running today. It would occasionally fire and kick back, but the spark was found to be very intermittent. I can do a few resistance and output checks on the stator & pick up coil, but looking at the price of the CDI & Stators I could do with making sure I know which is faulty if I can’t find anything conclusive. Annoying on a bike that is not even 18 months old! Does anyone know if there is compatibility with these parts on other models? Many Thanks. Dave
  3. A recently restored 1960 Scottish (32A) has been stolen from a garage in South Reading Berkshire Reg *** GWL. Finished in a brighter than standard blue. Any help in recovery greatly appreciated. Theft reported to Thames Valley police. Thanks. Dave
  4. Many thanks copemech. All seems to have gone back together OK and so far so good. I did find a tiny piece of kickstart spring whilst cleaning the cases, so hoping this was the culprit. Dave
  5. Hi, I wonder if someone can help please? The chain came off my lads 125 and locked up the gearbox, at the same time the kick-start spring snapped. It then became almost impossible to select gears due to being very tight. Initial strip down revealed no problem with the selector mechanism, hoping to find the piece of spring causing the problem. Further strip down of the gearbox revealed nothing obvious. Will try a dry assemble, but wondered if anyone has had a similar problem? Dave
