  3. Hi all picked up my new to me 2010 repsol 4rt yesterday. Use to riding a gas gas 280 pro had a go on a few four strokes and liked them so bit the bullit and treated myself. Went up woods after work today must admit very impressed loved it. Has anyone got any tips or does and don'ts to help me out please ? Plus it was very dry today so can't comment but I have heard a few people say they can't get grip on them in the wet has anyone any comment on this please ? Thanks for any replies in advance. Still got a grin on my face :-)
  4. Putoline light gear oil for me to:-) good clutch had no problems
  5. Hi quick update had a bit more practice after work took all your points on board. Dropped tyre pressure def helped also relaxed in arms and tried to just transfer weight on foot pegs progress def going in right direction. Plus I have two tier decking in garden so placed front wheel down so rear wheel was raised that really helped so much easier :-) so you can get technique sorted. Then when you get back on flat seems easier improved already. Thanks again to everybody who replied
  6. Cheers for all your replies much appreciated these will all be a great help . Think I am been to tence through my arms practice and more practice I think. Will drop tyre pressure to. Thanks again great forum.
  7. Well Ive been in the back yard trying to balance again just static engine off. Not had bike long and new to trials had bike about a month now not had to much time to practice but tried balancing quite a bit. Does it drive everybody mad at first. everybody I see makes it look easy. Is it just practice ? somedays I just can't get it at all just a couple seconds somedays a little longer. Am I just been hard on myself ?
  8. Well tonight I replaced a buckled rear sprocket bit the bullet and replaced front sprocket and chain at same time at least they will all wear at same pace :-) whilst I had bike in bits replaced rear brake pads and did the dreaded rear brake bleed.. Glad I did the old fluid was very dirty Was dark when finished so could not really test just went down drive and back. Brake didn't feel great but I take it new pads have to wear in. Like the bar risers shipdamite I'm 6ft-2 do they make a good difference ?
  9. Went out today having changed oil in it yesterday not sure wot oil previous owner used but it was red. Wow wot a difference the putoline lite gear oil made to the clutch could not believe it. Cheers again for replies

    Hi From Newbie

Hi all just come onto site and would like to say a big hello from Nottingham just bought my first trials bike a 2011 gas gas txt 280 pro. I realise it is prob a bit of a handful for first trials however its was bargain and could not resist. As a lot of people on here I have done quite a bit of mx and enduro but fancy a change. Any tip on how not to kill myself would be appreciated. Already flipped over backwards no pain no gain :-) ps great sight loads of friendly knowledge
