  1. Anyone know how many of these bikes made it to England
  2. Hello guys its been a long time since i have been on the site. I am thinking about restoring my 350 bult and wondered abou getting spare parts. Cheers
  3. Hello Flywheel You have good kit and are trying to frame your shots. The angle of your shots are often hampered by where the light / sun is in the best place so use fill in flash as has been mentioned is a great trick. Take sacrifisial shots of first riders through the section and don't take all your shots on the same settings. back in the day 2 rolls of 36 was all I could afford but today you can fire off a couple of hundred. I would be happy with only a hand full of great shots out of that. Although the cameras are slr's it all happens real quick so I would recommend using (THE FORCE) lol it comes down to luck and sticking at it. Cheers tbone.
  4. Great that's one thing less to buy but I think I will still have a big shopping list. I am going to start getting little bits every week or so to spread the cost out.
  5. I had a blue frame 325 and it did the same and the little valve stop thingy looked fine but when I changed it for a new one all was well.
  6. Thanks smelling I noticed them today when I was looking for something else. I have just been in the back of the garage moving things about to get all the parts in one heap, some are in the loft which is just as untidy. There were some new bits and bob's and among them were a 4 new bearings boxed up SKF 6205C3. I am hoping the mains in the 340 match as I will have got them for other bikes that I sold with out restoring them.
  7. Just an up date and my next question. I have cleaned up the swing arm and coated it with rust cure to hold it's condition until it is blasted and powder coated. I will do the arm white because I no that's the way it should be. Next question is bearing codes for the motor but firstly I would like to fit a tapered head set ? anybody got any codes cos I want to keep the cost down as there is a lot to do on this bike. I seem to remember that the early models were to small to take tapered sets, hope that is not the case for the 340 ?
  8. Looks like a well made bit of kit but could it do that run from the bottom back up to the top ?
  9. I can remember asking a lad about what mix he used and he just said 20 to one real quick and rode off. I watched him at a refuel some time later and he put un mixed fuel in the tank then opened a new two stroke oil and just tipped some in with out even checking what he had tipped in he was off again. LOL.
  10. I had a ty270r on a day time mot but that was before they started getting hot on road use with comp tyres ?. I have a new pair of miches for the bult it would be a shame not to use them.
  11. When you go to the powder coaters I find it's best to take all the bits and bob you can for good value. If I just take the arm it will cost to much. I have some black frames that need doing but don't like the idea of a black arm. Yes I have stripped the bushes out and will bobbin off the bush areas with timber and bolts.

    199A Finished

Like it and just to say I like the red ones as well. I may well track down a 250 and do it Red.
  13. I have had the frame powder coated with some parts that a friend was getting done but could not lay my hands on the swing arm but have found it now. I should have got it done at the same time but like to clean things up first to get the best results. Was thinking of doing the arm and side stand silver but not sure. Another thought was to spray paint them so I can re touch the as they get marked ?.
  14. That looks a tidy job bondy, that's the standard I am looking for. I am not looking to make a works replica just want it to look newish with some nice touches.
  15. Interesting, are you doing the motor yourself ? . I will have to give my motor a good overhaul and clean it all up, it's caked in hand painted black heat paint about several coats and the chips were never blended in just more pain over the top (not by me ). I got the bike about 25 years ago and just put it to one side as I had some 250's and a 325 and was using a fantic 240 pro so the dirty example of a 340 got pushed to the back of the garage never to see the light of day until now.
