  2. Mine is 1992 Beta Zero 260, I just want to share tips and specs to aid in set up of the Jordi Tarres signature replica, Steve Colley special! Winner of the SSDT with Steve Colley. My Water pump is fine and I use nonaqueous Evans Motosport Coolant (in all my bikes) I bypassed the the thermostat head switch and wired in a manual fan switch onto the bars, which I basically leave on all the time (SoCal temps) My Trials skill level is minimal. I have CST Legion Trials tires on it (cheap stuff), my Offroad/Enduro level is 50+ Expert/A, I am usually a top 10% finisher in that class. My main machine is 2017 Husqvarna TX300. Has the Mikuni VM26 carbby jetted per some former top tier Beta dealers here in the US. I will add that later for info sharing. It seems to run well, maybe there is is better. 10/40 is final drive , but I just ordered the smallest 9 tooth front sprocket, to get less chug/chain lash in first gear. So I will try 9/40. My Motoplat ignition was Inop/no spark so I sent the components from here in San Diego Ca. to Bradford Ignitions in Cornwall UK. They fixed it with their rebuild and it was well worth it. I highly recommend them for Motoplat repairs! The ignition is perfect now.
  3. I'm a 50+ expert (A) enduro/XC racer...….as for Trials...probably a NOV level. Ive been watching the 92 WTC events and my 92 far exceeds anything in my capability Hey anyone what's a good non-oring most narrow of chains for my bike (520). A good Trials chain choice. It looks like the OEM chain (Regina) is the one on the bike but at the same time its chafing on my brake pedal and it appears wide on the sprockets. Looks like only Regina makes a trials specific narrow 520 non sealed chain. the 135 EBXL anyone else have anything?
  4. Trials Central crew, I will be participating in the Bernie Schreiber Experience in early August at Moto Ventures SoCal Any information concerning my vintage model will be appreciated. Mine has an alloy muffler not the OEM Acerbis plastic one Mine has a Mikuni carburetor on it also Forks have been rebuilt from originals and another pair from ebay by Crow Performance Suspension SoCal shock is stock (I freakin weigh 210) I have eliminated the thermal fan switch and the fan is now manual on a handlebar switch I added fat pegs Set up tips? sag preload etc? Tires are 7psi F 5psi R Its got new Boyesen standard reeds, they felt very flexible, the OEM ones were very stiff any suggestions?
  5. Anyone find a viable replacement full ignition (lighting) system for the Red potted Motoplat set up? I have heard Techno CDI ignitions can go on.....but hearing buying and trying are different.
  6. without looking this is what I recall, I can verify later when I look out in the garage. so trigger is down facing wires come out of stator @ 2 oclock, harness gets "clamped" behind steel harness retaining plate
  7. for stator position, I just pulled my 1992 off (same set up) the quick key is that the metal wire harness retaining plate near the harness penetration point . the wire harness comes into the engine and comes up behind the retainer plate that holds the jacketed harness (fwd inbd of stator) and directs the wires into the stator. so where the wires go into the stator is @ 1-2 oclock position. I know this is not technical only visual.
