  1. I thought connor was 7 on observation, big dispute at the end of the trial about his time, fantastic trial and very tough. Very good marked out sections especially the log stair case alot of man hours must of went into that.
  2. going back a couple of years ago you never used to get a user manual, you got a poster which had very little info on it but always a good picture though. I think that you can(or used to be able to)download an in depth manual from the main sherco web-site. As for petrol, just use your normal unleaded or if you want you can use the performance unleaded and the oil i've always used Castrol TTS with a 50:1 ratio (100ml to 5 litres of fuel) or you can use Ipone. I've had new Shercos since 2000-2005, very good bike and have had no problems what so ever and i'm certainly not the "clean the bike thoroughly and maintain it after every trial man". Hope this info helps you.

    Pot Hunters

Totally agree, you also need the club to help out with this cause they know the main culprits also( to be fair not all of them but definately the people who take the money)
  4. I've rode the Lyn Traders Trophy Trial now for the last 5 years and i must say what an awesome trial it is. Its a national trial so therefore has 2routes around some fantastic land in north devon. Thing is, the amount of pot hunting GRABBERS who claim they are clubmen and ride the easy route(which i must say is far from easy but alot more managable than the expert route). If you win a award you do get a cash reward which is very nice but how can you give it a good go when you get damn good experts riding your route and basically stealing this from you. If you wanna be a big boy then surely ride the big boys route, the people who do this know who they are. I find that it disheartens you and when you travel 3hours to ride this trial it some times makes you think that why bother. Such a shame of one of the best trials around.
  5. Can anyone please shed some on where the practice place is in Hilmarton which is near calne, i did post this topic in trials talk section but i've had no response so i thought i'd give it a go in this one.

    Practising

i was reading a previous article about places to practice and one of the places which was on the list was Hilmarton nr Calne, i'm interested as to where abouts in hilmarton this is cause i'm about 10mins down the road from there and also is the landowner cool with this? I;m always on the look out for places which are close by where you can just get out the house for a couple of hours but as always its a struggle to find anywhere so a response on this would be well appreciated.
  7. Simple solution. Take a leaf out of the guys who organise the Bemrose's book. Clubman route for the blokes and woman who can't flick a bike round like a BMX.
  8. i totally agree with everyone views on this topic and observing can be a bloody miserable long day which on sunday it was cold and long, but i always make sure i am polite and friendly to all of them and am extremely grateful for the job they are doing, and when i've rode each section for the last time i make sure i say thankyou to each of them, i too have observed on many occasions and no doubt i've put a mark wrong here or there. Its just frustrating when 15 marks more are on your score card. Like i said tho, it was a fantastic trial with a fantastic venue and brilliantly marked out, i'd certainly ride there again and ride for that club again!!
  9. Totally agree with the punch cards point of view - but this does require more observers and usually brings on queues. The annoying thing is that the observer showed me the way to go and never corrected me. Never mind - will just have to kick ass on the next trial!
  10. Hello every1, this has probably happened to you all at one time or another and has me before but not to the extreme that happened on sunday. I rode a trial at a fantastic venue called Breakheart Quarry, three laps of 15 sections which i thought were brilliantly marked out and i opted to ride the new grade of riding as inter 50/50 which is 50% expert sections and 50% alternative route sections. At the end of the day i was happy with my ride, the same old thing shouldn't have lost this and shouldn't have lost that but was basically happy. I found the results on the internet tonight where on section 9 the observer showed me round the expert route which i needed to take and on each lap i rode it and cleaned it. I find on the results on the internet that the observer has marked me down for three 5's. I am 100% sure that on each lap i cleaned the section - the three 5's cost me the win, without the marks given on this section i would have won my class which would have been brilliant - as it happens i'm GUTTED! Sorry to bore you with this story but i really feel p****d off about this and needed to get it off my chest with some other people who share the same passion for trials.
