  1. Why?,,,Why!?,,why did I enlarge the 2nd pic??? I pray to the Godz that's photoshop.
  2. I was faced with a similar desicion a while back, did alot of research and went Beta, a bit heavy but that suggested to me "tougher" being I'm a begginer and I needed to learn on a bike that could withstand the abuse. I havn't had any electrical problems, nor my Brother either,(knock on wood). As to the Gasser's,,in my opinion "are"more benificial for the pro rider because of their weight. I have no favorite's and wish I could afford to own 1or 2 each of the top 5!
  3. Hope I can help a bit. Before you disect the forks, try cleaning the seals first, mine were leaky when I first bought my Techno. Bought a nifty cheap little tool called a sealsaver or some 35mm film will work as well. Gently tap up on the dust cover to expose the seal, dust it down with wd-40,insert the tool and with compressed air blow around the tube as you follow with the tool to remove any debris, repeat a few times with another dose of wd and your done.Tap the dust cover's back in place, change the oil,360cc of 5wt. in each tube. Back off all the preload and pump a few times, remove the pre-load cap to release any air (if any) and re-tighten and turn the pre-load 4-6 clicks for rebound. If it still seems to mushy, remove the left cap (spring side) either repace the spring or use a bit longer spacer, replace the cap and turn clockwise for desired load. As to the sputtering, that could be a number of minor thing's,crappy plug, too rich fuel, float ajustment, dirty carb and airbox/filter ect. You must remember,,you have entered the realm Trials! Forget everything you know about moto-x.
  4. Hmmmmmnnn, Has it "ever" boiled over??
  5. You'll need alot of patience,it can take awhile. I use a snug fit chunk a vaccum line on the bleeder nipple fed into a a small jar of fluid, keep the resivor up and crack the bleeder loose, and slowly push on the lever,(short strokes) til satisfied the system is free of any air bubbles or water. Make sure to use dot4 and not to let the level drop down to far in the resivor,or you'll have to start over.Tighten the bleeder and go putt putt with light pumps to the lever, just about the time you get ready to scream in anger it comes back. My first time took about 4 angry hrs.
  6. That's too sweet, plus the fact the school allowed the demo.
  7. Sounds alot like a possible loose, wore out waterpump impellar. My Techno was doing that last year, when I pulled the cover and snap ring off the impellar nearly fell out (really loose) on the shaft. The new one took a bit of force to go on. She's been running perfect since. Just a thought.
  8. Right^^^^ also check if the choke is free and not sticking, might as well inpect the reeds too.
  9. Thanks, I was talking to my Brother this am and he re-minded me to check the new one he got when he replaced the spring on his 99' he never used, and sure crap it's about 3/4 of an inch shorter than mine. I'll swap them out and see if that's it. I'm a bit leary though,, as to not using the recomended amount of 360cc of oil .
  10. If it's the JT or mikuni just turn in to litley seat then back out 1 turn, should be fine or 1/4 more or less. (pilot) That only affect's idle to 1/4 throttle. Check for proper float level. Possibly over jetted, might want to drop a size or two. (main)
  11. Curious about the correct spacer length for the left tube??? Done all the ajustment's and changed oil to 5wt,,still feels a bit too stiff. Wondering if the previous owner put in a longer spacer than should be. I'm a little guy and so was the original owner, but I can roll down a hill and stab the front brake,, with all my weight ,and they only compress about maybe 3inches. I back out all pressure and no pre-load,It just seems a bit too livley. Normal??? or should I cut a bit off the spacer or gain a few more pounds?? Thanks
  12. Well thank you very much, I'll do just that later.
  13. Thanks, but I've scrolled up,down, clicked everything,,,,I must be blind and dumb. All I find is (insert image),do I have to type somthing in there to open myPics? Dabnabit; I was joking,,,Url = Earl If you host your pictures on line, say for example in photobox, you can inset the web location for that picture (url) and it will appear in the post. Thanks ^^^^^^ now I get it. I don't have anything like that, was hoping I could just pull some off my system,,,oh well.
