hi everyone. i going to looking at two shercos tomorrow a 125 and a 200. im just starting out and brought a 290 but its too powerful for me. so should i go for and 125 0r 200? im 5,10 and only 11 stone age 43? what would you do?

hi i have recently got a sherco 290 2004, i doing ok with it but as a complete beginner im have problems with the power and im always fighting it. i have changed the throttle and timing. i think i have started with a bike that scares the life out of me! another problem is i only weigh 11 stone although im 5ft 10 tall i have problems starting it! the question is, do i sell it and get a sherco 125 to start and maybe move back up again when i have more confidence. what you think? ps. i have also been told it has slight piston slap and if i get it fixed it will have even more power?

thanks brian i always use a new plug so dont think its the plug but im gonna change it again tomorrow. when i do the screw what is the correct process in doing it? do i do it with the bike running? do i tightening it up first then un screw it 3.5turns?

I need help! I have sherco 290 2004 and went out on first trial last weekend and my bike started fine after about 3 kicks with no throttle, then when i stopped it at each section it was about 10 kicks before it went again! i then stopped for lunch and it wouldn't start at all until some guy helped me by turning the fuel off then kicked it few times then put fuel back on and gave it some choke and it started! he said he thought the mixture was not right but i cant remember if he said it was to rich or to dry? and which way i should turn the screw? and which screw? So has anyone got idea what could be happening? i kept the bike running all afternoon and only gave one dab away! hence love the sport and bike apart from killing myself trying to start the blooming thing! Help please!!!!

hi im having nearly the same problems. mine is very hard to start then i read on tc that i was to use no throttle and it now starts about 3rd kick will not start after i stop it at each section and when i stopped for lunch i couldn't start it? i ahve read somewhere it could be the mixture screw? any one got any ideas?

HI , I HAVE JUST BROUGHT A DAVE COOPER BIKE RACK AND I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS? 1 WHATS THE BEST WAY TO GET MY BIKE ON WITHOUT DROPPING IT? 2 THEY SENT ME 2 STRAPS BUT DID TELL ME WHERE I SHOULD PUT THEM, IS THERE A BEST WAYS HELP PLEASE

i ve got to change my gear box oil for the first time on my sherco 2004 290. what oil should i use as i have no trials shops near me. help please as im having problems changing up and have been advised to do this first.

yes new to it all. im in sussex and have no one local to look at it and nearest shop 50 miles away and dont have bike rack yet as spent a bit more than i had budgeted and got this 2004.

hi just brought sherco 290 and the bloke i brought it off said he had not rode it for a while. when i tested it only went in 1st and 2nd. i still haven't given it a real day out yet but rode it up the road last night and couldn't get 3rd etc. i am a novice and i am worried i have brought a duff bike? any ideas?
