    Flywheel?

I sheared mine whilst trying out different advance settings (270) when I put the new one in used a bit of threadlock on the nut and an air driven rattlegun to tighten it holding the flywheel with my hand. That was a year ago and its been fine since. There's a lot of inertia in that flywheel couldn't believe how heavy it was!

    Beta 270 New Owner!

So the running on is normal then? I'll try it with and without the weight and see which I prefer.

    Beta 270 New Owner!

Thanks matey! Been fiddling with it today, done the fork seals. One thing I have noticed is that the engine seems to run on when the throttle is closed, my mate thinks this is normal and it's just the flywheel effect/heavy crank. Is this normal ? It seems to me to be overfueling, maybe a bit rich or the float height is off any pointers?

    Beta 270 New Owner!

Hi Fellas Just bought an 03 270 and wondered if there were any web links to manuals etc. failing that any info on carb settings pre-mix oils / ratio, maintanence tips would be helpful. I got the bike from a mate it hasn't done much we're both more into enduro's. Only had a quick go round his garden on it and on his new 07 250 couldn't tell that much difference really. Need to change the fork seals, are they easy to do I've only done them on upside down ones before. Cheers Steve!
  5. I recenly bought a JTR160 which has been sleeved down to approx 100cc, the reason I got it was to let my boy have a go to see how he got on. As it turns out he is not that keen so I've ended up with a bike that's a little underpowered for me to ride, still had a good day out on it though it picks the front up easily enough but runs out of steam on longer climbs. I got the original piston with it but my engineering shop can't rebore the fitted sleeve as there would not be enough thickness left. It seems a shame to sell it as i've gone over everthing to make sure it's ok stripped and greased rear linkage new fork bushes and seals new pads sprockets etc. So what do I do sell it and hope to get

    Checking Fan

Checked it today looks like the fan motor, connected it up to a 12v supply and it only spins if you flick it to get it going. are these motors used in any other bike?
