    Mitani 280 Kit Help

I bought my Mitani 280 kit from Tarp , the Australian Montesa importer and he supplied software to suit a single stage throttle body and it has never missed a beat after the install. It is a fantastic add on to a 4rt , no negatives at all down low and heaps of fun delivered smoothly across the entire range ! I am a big fan of this install ! Cheers !
  2. Just bought my daughter an oneal mx helmet in pink which looks great, but dont know of a trials specific open face
  3. I also haven't dropped a plug yet and have had 4rt for a year and ride regularly . Recently fiitted a 280 kit and thought I would shout it a new plug but as I have had a good run out of this one I was scared I would throw out the lucky plug ! 3 Times I have just felt it run rough and straight away I have shut the throttle off and let it idle , it seemed to recompose its self after a minute then rolled the throttle on slowly and away we went . My tip would be to instantly put it back to idle , don't try to rev it clean as I have never heard of that working.
  4. I have fitted the mitani 280 kit and it is really noticeable. I tried the mapping changes first and could not pick the differences to any real degree. It is more grunty down low and carries a taller gear easily but still revs as hard and free. It is a lot of money and technique improvement is a real consideration but it is fun to ride. To quote caroll shelby " you can't make a silk purse from a sours ear but you can make an awfully fast pig " That probably describes my approach ! PS You can do top gear wheelies to the horizon !
  5. I agree with cota kid, it would be a great selling product to add to the xcting range. If you can buy a replica bike but not gear to match seems odd !!!!!!!!! Come on Sandifords put on the pressure !!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Who sells xcting repsol pants? I have looked on ebay at Sandifords site but pants are not listed. I am way gone for a one piece suit !
  7. Thanks for the replies. Yes the Lewis kit is the Thumper Racing kit , it does seem like great value, but I dont see how it doesnt need re mapping ? Cheers
  8. Does anyone know the performance difference and mapping availability between these kits?Is anyone using any of the above ?

    Repsol Wheel Colour

Hi, dsa. I have just had a few sets done in australia for myself and a friend. from what i could find out there is only 2 powder coat oranges available 1. solid 2. metallic. we chose the solid and they look fantastic. I will ring the powder coater tomorrow and find the colour name, its on the tip of the tongue and let you know. my friend neil is now cleaning every section since changing to orange rims apparently ! I think its bu....it myself ! Cheers Scott
  10. Thanks, i am going to get a lighter spring for the rear from hopefully ohlins or WP, then take some preload off front springs and slide thru.it seems to be the best approach until those legs grow ! cheers scott
  11. Thanks for all the replies.I have had no problem with my own repsol which is about 15 hrs old, but a freind who has the same bike of similar usage has just replaced a plug but other trials enthusiast at the scene ensured it was going to be a lrge part of our future ! Great to hear that with the odd bit of caution it is all bu.....it ! we are also in Australia , the land of trials riding convicts! Convinced the prison gaurd its a great way to break rocks ! So far so good !
  12. I have heard many reports that 4rt's like a reasonable diet of spark plugs every 15 - 20 hrs ! I have never heard of such a phenomina ! Who should be ashamed Honda or NGK , or is there a different brand ie nippon denso or an iridium style plug that you set and forget like a BSA bantam or a 06' trials bike of any other brand . Love the bike but baffled with the plug eating thingy !!!!!!
  13. Thanks for your thoughts, it makes sense if the tyres are poor quality. I was told the beta 50 had michelin tyres but hve looked on the sites and cannot find a listing.Mmmm now back to the drawing board.
  14. Hi , I am desperate to stop my 9 year old daughter from giving up trials ! I have bought her a gas gas 80 and it is to big for her ,she either cleans a section or crashes !I want to buy a 19'' and 17'' rim, a front and rear hub and 19''x2.5'' and 17''x3'' rear tyre. I am in australia and finding it hard to get any information. The beta rev 50 has this combination. I would like any feedback on price ,models availability etc. Eagerly waiting a response !
