    Need Help

The cdi out of the techno should work but you will need to work out the wire code. I would have thought that any cdi from any 2stroker would make the bike run it just may not run as well.
  2. I aquired a broken stator to play with off an 05 I think, this had a pickup coil failure. I took the windings off the former ( this was not an easy job ). There was no sign of water damage on any of the windings or connections and I would think you will it would be very unlikly to fail due to water because the windings on this stator were totally sealed with apoxy. I dont know if they are all like this but if I was winding this this is how I would do it ( this will seal the winding from any moisture also there will be no movement in the windings for them to wear ) . The failure on this stator was a break in the wire on the very first winding on the former. The wire is very thin and very fragile and the former is square!, so my thought is this is where they all break ( well most anyway ) . From experience the very first winding on a former is most likley to cause a problem when winding the wire on. I know this dont really help anyone as there is no a easy cheap fix but if all the stators are coated with apoxy as this one was I dont think no matter what you do ( sealing or cutting a V in the flywheel cover ) nothing will help prevent this failure its all down to luck. I heard that the replacment non oem ones are wound with slightly thicker wire and also done on a far smaller scale ( more personal service so greater care would be taken when winding ) so it will probably be far more reliable. Just my thoughts and I thought I would share them with you.

    1999 Beta Techno Wiring

Hi Greg, not sure if it is the same setup on a rev3, which has 2 wires from the cdi white/black 1 is used to the kill switch to ground and the other goes to the coil, these wires may well be connected internally within the cdi ( but i have never checked).
  5. It could be the HT side braking down ( coil, plug , lead or cap). A friend of mine had a simular problem with a gasgas I traced the problem to the HT lead arching to the frame. I is unlikely to be a LT problem if you think its heat related but would be worth checking all LT connections. If you have checked the fuel side of things, changed the plug and its not over heating also make sure the flywheel is secure on the crank. The next thing I would change is the coil and HT lead @ a cost of about

    Bad Wiring

I fitted a new kill switch on to my new to me rev3 and took out the lighting harness to tidy up the wiring and was amazed yet again how bad the wiring was done by the previous owner ( s ). This is now my 5th second hand trials bike and none of the rewiringing on any of the bikes has been very good. My point is how my current rev3 and previous rev3 was wired could cause relibabily problems and also could knacker the cdi and maybe the stator on these bikes. Both rev3's kill switches were wired across the coil so when the kill switch is pressed the coil is shorted so the output of the cdi is shorted which this may not be a good thing for obvious reasons. What do you lot think?. There is a dedicated wire used for the kill switch from the cdi so why dont peeps use it ?.
  7. I did some looking around about changing a 200 to a 250 ( out of intrest ) and from what i can remember the stroke was not the same ( I was only going on the part numbers of the crank ). The 125 is the same as the 200 so yes you just need a 200cc cylinder kit but the 250 and 270 are a longer stroke than the 125 . If anyone can confirm this I will also be intrested to find out for sure.

    Stator Plate

Has anyone got a old broken stator off of a rev3 that they would be willing to let me have a go at rewinding ?. PM me if you have one kicking about that is of no use, could be a well worth doing exercise to get some clue as to the cost and time involved.

    Fan

Just go to your local electronic suppliers and get a regulator from them something like http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ITAG=S...p;doy=10m5#spec will do the job, a lot cheaper .

    Stator Plate

Just a thought, has anyone ever tried to rewind a stator ?. I have in the past rewound transformers and various other coils by hand and think if my stator was to go I would have a pop at rewinding my self.

  12. ok the next step is to run crapcleaner. I know what you are saying about it being hijacked but I have found that its not always the case always start with the know computer settings. Something else I have learnt is system restore is a pain in the A** on xp anyway turn it off cos its got a habit of restoring the faults after they have been fixed.
  13. Did I miss something! all the setting for autocomplete are: If you delete all the autocomplete data and you are still having problems then you need to look elsewhere. i.e google settings or yahoo settings if you have these things installed on your browser. The autocomplete data is not taken from the history or favs.
  14. Hi copemech, Try Tools/internet options/content/auto complete Hope this helps. K.
  15. Im with Jack on this one aswell.. . the non-stop rule just causes problems for observers and i think its a silly one . How slow can you go before it becomes a stop ,, when is a bounce at the top of a climb not a hop . if you wanted to stick to the non-stop rule then just do pre65 trials maybe. Things Change... getover it......
