  1. Don't no why I didn't think of this Greg but I've got my mint GG Pampera only 480km with a 6ltr tank and more plonk than your average vignoble up for sale in a local dealers if your interested. H
  2. Have a look Greg at the www.alpestrialancelle.fr site, has english as well.......loads of insight into the French trials scene in the east....Good luck finding your bike..... H
  3. Hi Greg just 5 cents worth.....I ride trails and GR routes down in the SW on my GG Pro 250 with a couple of mates one with a SY 175 4t and one with Sy 250 long ride we all carry spare fuel on our Camelbacks in poly containers[water bottles,i think a couple of euros, when it's the season of course] from LeClerc, normally were out for up to 4hrs and never ran out of fuel, plus's I suppose is there's less weight on the bike and after half way through your ride just top up from the bottles the weight on your back is negliable....don't get the Sigg type bottles anyway cos the fuel melts the screw caps[i tried them]. If i was buying a different bike I'd go for a SY 175 or 125 will do everything you want to do and sips fuel and good value, have a look in the French YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE for dealers near you on there dealer map, trials bikes and just about every motor vehicle holds there price well regardless of condition so be carefull out there, get a pocket GPS as well it 's wilderness out there!! It's a pity trials are few and far between over here but "randos" rock for fun and discovering places you'd never find from the road....oh yeah lights are a legal requirement even when your up a mountain a gendarme stopped me once when I had them turned off......let me off though H
  4. Bin there Done it where's me T Shirt!!
  5. Salut BP.........I live a bit further south down in the SW in 82 I find French trials are a bit few and far between unless you travel but the oppertunity to ride "randon
  6. Hi 007 send me a mail, my local dealer use Trusty and I might be able to help... H
  7. a size 12 front was the obvious one but just interested in anyone else's experiences in riding trials bikes on trails.... we try and find the most challenging sections to ride but of course you have to do some 5/6th gears to get to them.....a friend just sold his Beta enduro and bourght a Scorpa TY175 cos he was fed up of where you can go with a trialy, than a truck like enduro......wish the GG gearbox was a slick as that Scorpa..... H
  8. due to the lack of regular trials in my area I'm using my GG Pro '03 more and more for riding the trails on my doorstep often with very technical bits so I'm getting the trials fix as well...........I'm running the standard 11/42 sprocket sizes but curious to find out if anyone has experimented with gearing to give longer legs on the straight bits with out comprimising too much on the nadgery bits.... H
  9. I have great fun with my French riding buddy swapping swear words[gros mots] in five situations!! I agree with Stu that it's just courtesy to help being understood in other cultures to learn there language and accents it's genuinely appreciated, stimulating and rewarding.........if you can't dig communicating with people jeez your missing out on stuff. Always found "ey' up" in Yorkshire and "hi y'a Boss nice day 'innit" at Mr Patel's my old cornershop worked for me. H
  10. Thanks for the excellent responses guys I've no idea what state the bikes in but he's keen to keep me out of mischief over Xmas may be I'll get to have a go.........I'll let you know.Have a good one H
