  1. Hi I’ve got hold of a virtually unused Tx125 (2008) that’s been in storage. I want to convert it to a 225 either using a kit (S3?) or parts. Can anyone advise where I might get hold of the necessary bits? Many Thanks Andy
  2. Had my front done on a surface grinder about a year ago. went down to 2.6 mm and its been fine so far. I think if you tried to do iton a lathe you could run in to trouble getting the faces parallel which is crucial for good operation.
  3. If you get your bearings from a merchant (try ERIKS)you can get them with seals built-in. Slightly more expensive but much easier to do and less risk of distorting the seals when you press them in. Also helps if you put bearings in freezer overnight and then heat up the link.
  4. great place. been there loads of times, theres everything there really, man made concrete, gulleys climbs trees rocks etc...
  5. I've been using a company called Birmingham Hard Anodising. A small family run firm who will do one offs - often as a cash job. Never done anything as big as a frame though. I'm sure if you give them a call with the overall dimensions they'll be able to sort you out. Andy
  6. Hi Just found this thread and I'm trying to find the correct gap for my 2007 250pro. There's no way I can get 0.7mm or larger without drilling the holes out. If anyone knows the correct gap it would be much appreciated! Thanks Andy
  7. I'm sure this must have been answered before...but can't seem to find it. I have the rear linkage and swing arm apart on a 2008 125 racing and replaced the 6 needle roller bearings. I have 6 thin washers and can't remember where they go...I can see 4 on the parts list can anyone tell me where the other 2 go?....a picture would be great...many thanks! Andy
  8. I had the same problems on a brand new TXT50. Eventually traced it to a distorted reed block which meant that even with a super clean carb and a healthy spark because the reeds were not completely sealing there was not enough vacuum at kick over to draw fuel. I replaced the block and made sure that the seal was perfect and the bike then started first time every time for the next 2 years! Quality control is not great with these (Chinese manufactured) bikes....
  9. If you do a search on manifold extension in this forum theres a really helpful mod for this. I've got them on 2 bikes now and swear by them. Andy
  10. Hello Paul My views based on a 2003 machine. I bought one of these for my lad back in 2003. I bought it from new (whilst living in Spain) and received it in its original (Chinese!!) packing as received by GasGas. This led me to believe that these bikes were being manufactured in China and went a long way to explain the generally poor quality of most things on the bike. The bike would not start from new which was down to a distorted reed block which meant the reeds never properly sealed. When this was replaced the bike started ok but was never a 'first kick' machine. There was quite a bit of corrosion on most of the chrome parts after only a few months use despite being kept clean, dry and oiled. My view...a great little bike but way over priced and poor quality manufacture. All this aside my son loved it, it rode really well and he won lots of D class trials on it and even showed some youngsters on full size machines a thing or 2. Andy
  11. An Englishman a Scotsman a Welshman and an Irishman are sitting in a train carriage one day waiting for the train to pull off. As the train moves away the Englishman says 'Well since we are all sharing this carriage please allow me to introduce myself. My name is George and I was born on St Georges day and I'm proud to be English.' On hearing this the Welsman says Well isn't that a coincidence boyo's 'cos my names David and I was born on st Davids day and I am a proud welshman. Almost before he has finished the Scottsman pipes up saying 'Och I cannae believe it..my name is Andrew and I was born on St Andrews day. All 3 of them looked over at the Irishman who thought for a minute before before blurting out.. 'Well moi names pancake and....
  12. Thanks for the info...are you talking from personal experience here? Did you have to make any carb/jet changes or is it a starightforward 'bolt-on'? Cheers Andy
  13. I'm thinking of buying an S3 exhaust for my 08 125 Pro....anyone got any experiences..good or bad? Thanks! Andy
  14. A bloke walks into his local pub and sees his mate looking glum at the bar. Whats up? he asks 'Well you know that barmaid who works here' says his mate. 'What that little blond one that makes you get an erection every time you see her?' he says. 'Yes thats the one...well I finally plucked up enough courage to ask her out' his mate replies. 'Brilliant!' says the bloke, how did it go? 'Well says his mate, I thought I'd better do something about, you know, my problem so I decided to duck tape my knob to my leg.' 'Good idea' says the bloke, 'so how did the date go?' 'Well, he says, I went round to her house, knocked on the door and she opened it wearing nothing but a see through nighty.' Thats great! says his friend, so why are you looking so glum? 'I kicked her in the face!' says his mate.
