  1. I've used trials and trials UK a lot in the past, the are very good and quick. Follow this link for a coil. http://www.tytrials.co.uk/trailandtrialsuk/prod_153950-HT-Coil-amp-Cap-TY80.html Hope it works
  2. was just about to say a new plug, i run a NGK B7HS as apposed to what the book says (B6HS) they tend not to burn out so quick. I would also run some sand paper accross the points to make sure they are clean. then try it. Answers to your questions: 1. Not sure how to check, but if its old the HT lead may have broken up inside and i would renew that too, will save a lot of problems in the long run. (ive been there before). when you do that i would advise changing points fo new and the condenser. 2. Points gap is 0.35mm 3. BTDC is 1.80 +or- 0.15mm 4. Float hieght is 23mm +or- 1mm and is taken from the gasket seat to the top of the float. hope this helps
  3. Can any one help to where i can get insurance for fire and theft? have asked carole nash and they quoted me
  4. your right about not being centre of attention, hahaha (i'm an Oulton Park marshal)
  5. Sounds like a mixture problem to me too, mine is an 05 but you could try these settings. I have the needle set to the richest (the bottem notch) and the air screw is wound out 1 and a quarter turns with the fuel wound in 5 and a half turns. I know it might not be right for your bike, but it could be a good place to start. let me know how you get on
  6. i find that if you take 'different' pictures from the norm, its alot more interesting. I sometimes lie on the ground, right close to where the front wheel is going to be, or try and get close but above your subject (not always possible, and you have to really trust your subject) As for settings, i use sports mode and leave it at that, you can follow the bike as you take the shot so the background will be blury. there is all sorts of things you can do to take good shots. But as he says, a good shot is in the eye of yourself. happy pictures
  7. Was thinking of trying the mod, on the slide, but it seems to be running fine at tho moment. Probably is the same noise level as the TY, but like you say not as piercing. Seems to be chucking a lot of oil out of the exhaust, so going to clean that out. Will see how it goes after a couple of trials. thanks for your help guys Ps. Would have liked a BETA, just couldn't find one.
  8. My 10 year old son has been competeing on a TY80 for the last two years, and has done very well (4th in the first and 2nd in the last). He wants to carry on with it, so i decided to buy him a TXT rookie 80 2005 (full size). I have noticed that it is really noisy, and cant find anyway of getting into the exhaust to check the baffles etc. It looks to me that the end and the middle section (chamber) are all welded up so you cant get in them. Can anyone help? is there a special way of getting into the silencer? do i have the wrong silencer for the year? thanks Paul www.denbighandmoldtrials.co.uk
