  1. Also check out www.secondgearclub.com website for additional events around Calgary.
  2. I have someone new to trials asking about two used Betas he has found, a 1999 Techno 250 and a 2002 Rev 3. Are there any year specific issues he should be aware of?
  3. Try contacting the local club (CPTA). They have access to land just north of Vancouver and all their events are held at the same property. Their website is www.trialsclub.org. If this does not work, you might try posting in the TrialsCanada website (www.trialscanada.com) and see if you can get some email addresses of some locals.
  4. I guess at the world level they don't use crossing your own line rule. There is a great example of this non-call on section one, day one, female montesa rider.
  5. What tire pressure did you use for the soap and water method? I found the leaks are easier to find if the tire is pumped up to high pressures.
  6. Dave, My chain was not too tight (about one finger between swingarm and tensioner). My adjuster on this side raised up slightly after a few months of use. It just required measuring each side when adjusting the chain. The adjuster was good until my last rides when I noticed the chain going slack. It think I will be going with the bolt route.
  7. Has anyone had problems with the chain adjusters on a Sherco? Last ride, I noticed on my 2002 290 the chain seemed to be loose. So when I checked it at home tonight, I found the chain adjuster portion on the left swingarm is worn off. It is normally just a raised part of the swingarm that the snail adjuster piece sits against. All that is left is a small lip the snail adjuster piece is sitting against. Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing it? Though of two potential solutions. Firstly, welding a bead for the adjuster to sit against (aluminum welding). Secondly, drill and tap a bolt into the swingarm for the snail adjuster to sit against (similar to my old Scorpa). Thought? Experiences?
  8. Does anyone know how many new trials bikes are imported into Canada each year?

    Rear Shock Setting

95mm?? Way too much. That number works for a MX bike, not a trials bike. Set it at 2.5" or 63.5 mm. Sag should be set at 1/3 of your travel. Here is a reference.... http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/Technical/tria...nsion-tips.html
  10. I found this on the Dirt Rider Website... "I'm gonna do some cardio training for the first time in ten years after all that," said Canada's Guy Perrett after the LCQ, "Either that or switch to filtered cigarettes. I need to get some lung power back and I'll be in the main [next year] for sure."
  11. From the articles on various websites, Geoff Aaron did not make the main event and I have not heard anything about Guy Perret. www.endurocrossusa.com

    Sherco Porting

While taking apart my top end this weekend on my 2002 290, I noticed the intake ports are not quite lined up. Has anyone gone through the effort to clean and match the ports on a Sherco and is it worth the effort?

    Brake Pedal

I have a 2002 Sherco and I was looking at moving the brake pedal closer to the footpeg. Has anyone done any mods to their brake pedal and how successful were they?

    Ute Cup

  15. Instead of building a new one, you might try to get a crate from a shop that sells MX bikes (assuming there are no trials dealers close to you). My MX bike came with a steel bottom and frame that was covered with cardboard for shipping. Another more expensive option is to build one out of plywood. People have build crates out of plywood for years to ship their bikes over to the ISDE.
