  1. My Husky 450 enduro ran really hot when new. I put Motul racing coolant in and it really helped, the other change was putting a higher rated radiator cap on. I don't have any problems with it now.

    320 F

Anyone here pre-ordered one? There seem to be quite a few more 4RT's turning up now.

    200 V 250

Have to say I sometimes find my 290 a bit of a handfull but it's a trend I started some time ago... never have accepted my own limit
  4. A few cc's of Castrol R in the tank
  5. Looks like it. My '03 is definitely straight.
  6. Anyone know what the FIM noise limit is? I always run my Husky MX with the quiet insert (94db) in the FMF silencer. The noise difference to the 98db insert is considerable and it's still quieter than most of the Jap bikes that people run and leave the silencer packing alone all year. More noise = less places to ride.
  7. I'm keen to let everyone else 'test' the new 4-strokes this year then take a look next year. I do prefer the look of the Sherco over the Honda but think there are lessons to be learnt from MX and Enduro, most people went to 4-strokes and are now going back because of running costs and the additional maintenance needed. The first enduro of the season saw a field full of 300 Gassers! Maybe the difference will be less on the trials versions but the less time I need to spend in the garage with the bike in bits, the better.
  8. Video looks interesting but anything can get grip on dry spanish rocks... Nice quier sound though. I have to say I'm a little concerned about losing land if we all start tearing around on these new 4 strokes. The MX scene is unbelievably loud these days.
  9. Sorry to be cynical but: No doubt this is a minor issue but what would happen if someone blips the throttle or rides off straight after the bike is started from cold. Lets face riders are human and how many of us obey the instructions laid down in the bike handbooks on starting/warming up by the letter . What will happen 2 years down the line when the bikes have been sold on to a 2nd or 3rd owner and they dont read the instructions before starting the bike? Are Honda (sorry Montesa) coming out with a revised ECU sensor on all future bikes & will this be retro-fitted to all current bikes if requested? My brother had a KTM450SXS that didn't like being interfered with before being kicked up. At the time it drew plenty of attention in the paddock, much like a 4RT does at the moment. You would be amazed (or maybe not!) how many people came over for a 'look' and gave the throttle a quick twist. Beware of 'lookers' 4RT guys...
  10. I've found that breakers have parts from bikes as new as '03 from MX but not nearly as much trade on trials.
  11. Anyone got a 99/00 top clamp they want to sell? I've tried the breakers in the Uk, with no success.
  12. Very cool. Where did you get the fat bar clamps from though?
  13. Ok... a new top tripple clamp from MRS is
  14. From the pictures on the Sherco web site it looks less bulky than the Honda. I have to say I wasn't impressed with the size of the new Honda when I got up close. Anyone know how much?
  15. Hi I got in touch with a US company that I got a set of tripple clamps for my Husky (TE450) to see if they had looked at trials yet, now that Renthal has released fat bars. They havent... but said if I can send them a top clamp they will have a look and make something. Would anyone else be interested, just in case they say there is a minimum quantity? Have a look at http://www.brpit.com/index.html to see what they make.
