Sorry the report is a bit late, had lots to do. I've just managed to escape on the new bike and am just waiting for my breakfast at the Station Cafe on the Watercress Line in Alton, Hants.
Following a successful clearing day at Sparticles Wood the week before, we set out the usual 8 sections for the Club trial on the following Sunday. We were able to incorporate some new areas and use some of the banks which are normally heavily overgrown.
Section 1 was up in the beechwood with a selection of loose chalky turns and for the Blue and White routes a nice log obstacle.
Section 2 was in the chalk bowl with a long left turn across the camber for the beginners and up the chalk banks and across the cambers for the Red route riders. The Blues, Inters and White route riders had a full climb with some nasty twists and turns. Eric Clarke was clean here on the Fantic.
Sections 3 and 4 were behind the bowl and were a combination of twisty climbs and turns and a log with a tight turn on section four.
Section 5 was one of the new areas which was cleared the week before, and mainly consisted of log obstacles - a rather large one for the Whites, and some awkward cambers for the others.
Section 6 was to beat Simon and Rachel on the beginners route until the final lap. The Blues and Whites had to negotiate a large log and then go up the bank after crossing the chalky camber. Simon Mepham on the Honda twinshock was entertaining to watch!
Sections 7 and 8 were a combination of logs, cambers and loose chalky climbs taking dabs from the less able riders.
