Death of Harry Norman

It is with great sadness that I report the death of Harry Norman

Harry’s support of Motorcycle Trials was unlimited and he has been actively involved in the North East Centre ACU for over 40 years.

He was Treasurer for the Centre and was Secretary for any national event held in the Centre, this included the Travers Trophy Trial, the National Youth Trial and the Inter-Centre Team Trial.

Harry was involved for many years at the Scottish Six Days Trial, originally providing organisational support for North East riders and later observing at the event. In recent years his enjoyment was observing at the Pre-65 2 day trial.

At club level, Harry was Treasurer and Secretary for Seaton Delaval & DMC, and was involved in every detail of their trials, typically, he also helped other clubs, particularly Tynemouth MC, in organising and marking out their trials

Harry was also the Trials Recorder for the North East Centre and despite being in hospital for the last few months Harry’s involvement was not curtailed. At his request, his family have been taking all trials related paperwork in to hospital for him to work on, including results so that he could grade riders and process permit applications so that events could go ahead.

As soon as I am informed of his funeral arrangements, I will publish them on this website.
