Dave Rowland Trial 6th July

Captains CrackCaptains CrackPart of the big changes that Manchester 17 are making to their traditional 40 section single lap road based national Dave Rowland trial for this years production a week on Sunday, 6th July,  is what the club are calling ‘Eyres Loop’.

The new loop makes the revised course a big figure of eight reducing total mileage together with a return to the start area for refuelling etc before setting off on ‘Eyres Loop’ for the last 9 sections. The 5 mile or so loop picks up a couple of gullies one of which is a completely new find by Dorian Goddard and Toby ‘Captain Crash’ Eyre. These are proper rock gullies with a series of small and not so small waterfalls, lots of grip and plenty of places to safely get your feet down for the lesser skilled and all without any hair-raising drops! All this means that the start has had to move a long way toward Macclesfield to the same as the start used for the John McDonald road trial courtesy of Macclesfield Trials Club.

The club are still looking for observers as the trial clashes with a popular French cycling event in the area so if you’d like to help please call Jude from Gas Gas on 07966 524819.
