Loughborough Trials Club

loughboroughLoughborough Trials Club don't normally run an event in July due to Holidays but decided to give a Saturday evening meeting a go this year, and with over 45 riders turning out it proved a good decision. The event on the 12th of July was run at the traditional Scalford venue on what was a very pleasant evening.

Only two riders chose the hard route, Graeme Watson and Youth, Joe Collins and they tied on 43 points lost so it was a most cleans tie break that gave Graeme the win. On the 50/50 Tony Jones was a clear winner from Fantic mounted Ryan Mogford while once again most of the entry picked the Clubman sensible middle route.

Olly Wareing is making a habit of getting his trick T/S Fantic round without putting his feet down but on this occasion he was matched by Ross Mason. Josh Whitehead lost just 3 to take best youth and the final podium place.

On the easy route Simon Clarke took victory by two over Michael Smalley with Dave Cole just three further back to complete the placing's.

A well supported event that should see the club doing some more Saturday evening events in the future, but now the small enthusiastic band look towards their big event of the year, The Susan Harris Memorial two day on 16th and 17th of August at the combined Vickers and Riley's venues. Once again the 3pm start Saturday will be the fun event with the more serious action on the Sunday, however the focus is on having fun and raising money for charity in memory of this stalwart of Midlands trials clubs. The club would welcome contact from anyone wishing to sponsor a section (£30 minimum donation) and is looking for a big entry both days to raise as much as it can and eclipse last years total.
