Stroud Valley's Sapperton Cup

Heavy overnight rain, and showers through the morning, made the going more difficult than expected. Nathan and Oliver Pekala marked out twelve sections to be covered three times and 71 riders signed on to tackle the course.

Sections 9,10 and 11 in the wood took most marks from the expert riders with section 10 the only one not cleaned. Oliver Humphries's consistency gave him a 6 mark advantage over 'up and coming' Tom Culliford. Martin Podesta was a further mark adrift.

Dane Palmer, fresh back from 'paternity leave', comfortably took the clubman/expert award.

In the clubman class Wessex Center visitor, Richard Elliott beat John Roberts into second place. For the first time there was an electric bike in a Stroud Valley adult class, with Mark Hurlston finishing well up the order. Another impressive ride was that of Alicia Robinson of the North Berks Club who beat many of the more seasoned clubmen competitors.

Dai Clothier kept a clean sheet to finish top of the Sportsman Route.
