Bewdley Boxing Day Trial

The Bewdley MCC are organising their annual Boxing Day Trial at Brown Westhead Park, Wolverley, , Friday 26th December 2014. The venue is situated off the B4189 road, half a mile from Wolverley village and will start at 10.30. The course will be laid out to suite all standard of rider and consist of four laps of a ten section course, with routes marked, Hard Route, 50/50 Route, Medium Route and an Easy Route and classes will cater for all solo riders, Expert, Intermediate, Clubmen, Over 40, Lady, Youth, Twinshock and Pre-65.

As is the tradition on Boxing Day, a refreshment van will be on site, serving hot food and drink, during and after the trial. An observers raffle will be held and riders providing a bona fide observer will receive a free entry. All observers will be provided with hot drinks during the trial.

As a point of interest, the venue has a history far detached from motorcycle trials. During World War Two, the park was used as a United States Medical Hospital and some of the brick built hospital buildings still exist, although now are quite derelict. Following the Americans departure, the buildings were inhabited by squatters and the homeless from the locality!
