Stroud Valley Non Expert Trial 2015

A wet and windy Moorhouse Farm greeted the riders and officials for the long established Minchinhampton 'Novice' Trial.

On the main route it was his many years of experience which enabled Nigel Tomkins to clinch victory, but only just, as he tied on marks lost with up and coming youth A rider James Saunders. It had to be decided on 'number of cleans'.

The camber and roots of section 3, observed by Georgina Mason, took many marks, and the winner was the only rider to record a clean, and then only on his first lap.

Dougie Nolan's section 6, a normally straightforward climb, also proved difficult especially on the second and third laps. Similarly the slippery roots at 'secretary' Laurence Luff's section 12 meant plenty of marks being lost.

On the closely contested 'sportsman plus' route, JordanWeaving recorded the lowest score and on the 'sportsman' route Austen Kear beat Billy Andrews into second spot.

Many thanks go to our invaluable observers and club officials who, under the guidance of Bob Miles, made the event possible.

Finally we hope the riders enjoyed the event and we look forward to seeing you at our next event in June. Details will appear here in due course.
