Hillsborough Set for Final Normandale Round

hillsborough mccRegs are now available for the final round of the Normandale Championship – Hillsborough Classic – To keep things interesting the trial will take a new route around some familiar and new groups, 35/36ish sections over one big lap, with the usual Hillsborough mix of rocks, streams, rocks, mud, and rocks. Details will be in regs available and anyone willing to help with observing would be much appreciated and rewarded!

We have started to sort out the route and section and found that there has again been practicing in Bradfield outside of a trial or working party.  We understand that people have gained the farmers permission but they don’t have the same from Sheffield Council and the potentially more damaging  Peak Park – if they had tried to get permission from them they would have been in touch to check we have an event - both are organisations that we keep close to and  have to work very hard with to ensure that events in such a sensitive area can continue.

We fully understand that the land doesn’t belong to the club and we can’t dictate who can and can’t use it but what we do understand is the impact of additional riding in the area because we have lost land before and have come very close to losing other key areas recently through regular practicing – such as where the Jack Wood started this year.  This is why we run only a few trials and move around not overusing any one area; for a rural area Bradfield parish is well populated – we don’t want to; can’t upset the neighbours.

We would welcome anyone to join the club properly and help making sections ‘practicing’ on organised working parties for the two nationals, two centre trials and 4 – 5 clubs trials we run a year (should be enough riding time) but not to use the land otherwise as the likelihood is that one person’s couple of hours practice affects 70+ years of goodwill and loses land for hundreds of riders to enjoy.
