Dabill Takes Opening Win In British Championship

ACU logo in articleThe 2018 RT Keedwell sponsored ACU British Trials Championship got underway this weekend at the Hookwood Trial Centre in Surrey. Making a welcome return to the series, James Dabill - Beta clocked up his first win by a nineteen point margin over Jack Price - Gas Gas with Dan Peace - Gas Gas taking third place.

 

The Expert Class saw Montesa mounted Ben Morphett draw first blood in a most cleans tie break with Richard Sadler - Beta. Chris Stay, making the journey from the Isle of Wight completed the Expert Class podium.

 

In the new Elite Youth Class where six riders took part, it was Gus O'Blien - Sherco who took top honours in what was a high scoring event for them. He topped the table by a seven mark margin from Mitch Brightmore - Gas Gas with C Smith taking the final podium place a fiurther five marks behind.

 

Finally, it was a small entry of just four for the opening round of the new Master Class where Ross Danby rode his TRS to victory with a comfortable thirty-two mark buffer over second placed Tom Affleck - Vertigo. Duncan MacColl - Beta rounded out the top three.
