mrs sport in articleSherco UK Importers, Malcolm Rathmell Sport, are very pleased to announce the signing of three new riders for the 2013 season.

First on the list must be the 2011 Expert A Champion Ricky Wiggins who has now agreed terms to ride for MRS in the British Championship for 2013, in conjunction with their local dealer RCM Motor Cycles. Ricky is very well known on the trials scene and comes from a very enthusiast trials family. Every weekend Ricky is actively involved in events, along with his father and grand-dad. The very popular Yeovil based rider, Ricky is now in possession of his 2013 305 Sherco and is starting to practise in preparation for the coming season. MRS are absolutely delighted to have Ricky on board and will be working closely with RCM to fly the Sherco banner down in the South-West.

Winner of the final round of the Expert Championship, East Yorks rider Tom Affleck makes a welcome return to MRS and will be contesting all the major events in 2013. Tom has already collected his Sherco 305 model and will be riding under the banner of MRS and Andy Metcalfe Motor Cycles, from Redcar.

Last, but certainly not least, up and coming youth rider Tom Hooper has now confirmed that he will be joining MRS for 2013. Tom was the winner of the last round of the B Class Championship and is a very talented young contender. He finished runner up overall in the British Championship B Class in his second year of riding major trials and will be a real force to reckon with in 2013. Tom will also be riding under the MRS/RCM banner so Rob will have his hands full looking after these two talented riders.

The three new MRS riders will be joining the established team who consist of the newly crowned British S3 Champion, Richard Sadler. Eight times Scottish Champion, Gary Macdonald, who was the top Sherco rider in the British Championship, despite missing two of the rounds! Popular south eastern rider, James Fry, had some mega riders in this years’ British Championship but never showed his full potential after a very nasty injury sustained at the SSDT which put him out of action for a considerable time. Without this injury James would certainly have been in much higher contention in this year’s British Championship.

MRS’s longest serving rider Chris Pearson was Sherco’s best rider in this year’s SSDT and third overall in the S3 Championship. The loyal Sherco rider has gone from strength to strength during 2012 after returning to the British Championship. With a three year break from the major championship it has been a pleasure to see the smile on his face at every round and to see him enjoying his sport so much again. Running his Splat shop Chris has his hands full but he still manages to find the time to ride every weekend promoting the Sherco brand. Add to the mix Richard Timperley, runner up in the Expert Championship in 2012 and Luke Walker, who has now made the transition from youth to adult, and the MRS team is looking good for 2013. Expect more announcements shortly!!
