The Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club is proud to announce the 2016 Wight Two Day Trial - will take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of April 2016. The first Wight Open trial was held way bac k in 1947. Last year saw the return to the original format - that included roadwork.
The Wight Two Day has attracted some very well-known names over the years, most notably, Sammy Miller, who took the title no less than seven ti mes. Sammy remains the rider with most wins spanning from his first title i n 1967 to his last win in 1977. Home grown, Becky Cook, the only winning fe male rider to date, won the title in 2008, Becky went on to take successive British & European trials Championships.
The Club took the decision to reintr oduce road work last year, (for some riders) in preparation for next year, which will be the 50th, Golden Anniversary Trial. The Club thought it impor tant to celebrate this milestone (that very few Club's will have achieved) just as it began, back 'on the road'. We are looking forward to a bumper en try in 2017. There will of course be the usual all 'off road trial' that wi ll run in tandem alongside thos riders opting to include roadwork.
