SUMMARY:Isle of Wight MCC Two Day Trial
LOCATION:Isle of Wight (Copy)
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:\n\nThe Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club is proud to announce the 2017 Wight T
wo Day Trial - will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of April 20
 17. The first Wight Open trial was held way back in 1947 and was a one-day
event. In 1967 the decision was taken to make it into a two-day trial. In 2
015 the trial returned to the original format -  that included roadwork for
some riders.\n\n\nThe Wight Two Day has attracted some very well-known nam
es over the years, most notably, Sammy Miller (eleven times British & two t
imes European Trials Champion) Sammy took the title no less than seven time
s and remains the rider with most wins spanning from his first title in 196
7 to his last win in 1977. Sammy has agreed to make a special trip across t
he Solent to set the riders off on the Saturday.\n\n\nHome grown, Becky Coo
k, the only winning female rider to date, won the title in 2008. Becky went
on to take successive British & European trials Championships. A young Ale
x Wigg took the honours in 2006.\n\n\nThe Club took the decision to reintro
duce road work (for some riders) in preparation for 2017, which will be the
50th, Golden Anniversary Trial. The Club thought it important to celebrate
this milestone just as it began, back ‘on the road’. We are looking forwar
d to a bumper entry in 2017. There will of course be the usual all ‘off roa
d trial’ that will run in tandem alongside those riders opting to include r
oadwork.\n\n\nAll Riders, Observers & Officials will be given a special com
memorative Golden Anniversary enamel badge when signing on. In addition, th
e Observers & Officials will be presented with engraved glass tankards or w
ine glasses. There will also be a Social evening on Saturday which includes
a free disco and a free buffet. The bar will be open however you will need
to pay for your own drinks! The Social is open to all Riders and their gue
sts. We hope you will all join us and help celebrate this important milesto
ne in the Club’s history. Full details can be found in the Regs and entry f
orm.\n\n\nRed Funnel Ferries are once again supporting our trial, kindly, o
ffering discounted return ferry fares for those travelling from the mainlan
 d. Full details will be available, nearer the time, from the Club’s website
.\n\n\nWe look forward to welcoming you to the Isle of Wight later in April
2017 for what promises to be a great weekend.\n
