I would like to give a Scorpa TY125 trials a try but they are very difficult to find in the US. Is it easy to convert the long ride version? There are a few of them. What are the differences?

I just picked up a 2003 (?) SY250 on FB. It's the newest trials bike i've owned, and i'm pretty excited about it.

There were a couple mid-70's TY's in the mix, so i dig the fact this bike has a Yamaha motor.

What i need, though, is a manual or something to familiarize myself with this machine. I've struck out on the web.

	I'm grateful for any advice.

Hi, got an unknown age 125 4 stroke with a yamaha engine, monoshock. Trying to find out some servicing info or links to manuals for these, engine oil, brake fluid, carb settings etc.

It does have quite a loud ticking from the top end, which comes and goes a bit but is there right through the rev range. It runs ok except a bit hesitant at low rpm. Any obvious problems with these engines that would give the ticking?

can someone advise on the correct chain tension and what is the correct rear wheel nut torque (possibly 60NM) ?

Also I’ve just replaced the chain tensioner bush which had worn where the chain had rubbed. After refitting chain it looks like it might still rub on the new one, is this normal ?

	Dear all,

	Alain from France.

I'm happy to share this restoration.

This big girl is a Scorpa Works 294 1994.

It's one of the hundred bikes produced this year.

This is the first ever Scorpa !

And this one is a one owner bike !

Never seen rocks, mud or Kärcher.

No damage and in very nice condition.

Engine run like new, no piston noise.

The balance shaft did a very good job.

Just need a detailing, fresh tyres, pads, grips, petcock, airfilter (from gasgas 92-95), liquids, carburator gaskets.

This bike looks a bit massive and a bit heavier than some other 94's bikes. But this bike is cool, rare and looks 100% 90's !!

	Hi there!

I just bought a Scorpa SY 250´01 in decent shape.

Love the bike, fits my old school riding style very well! 🙂

Now I have a little problem:

While sorting the rear shock I took off the subframe and damaged a little transistor that is connected to the fan.

2 of the 3 little pins just broke off!

Can someone tell what kind of transistor this is (Type or description?) and where I can buy it? Maybe at a local electronics shop?

Also, i need to know where the 3 cables(colors) are connected!?

What is the transistor actually needed for?

If someone can answer theses questions, that would be great!

	Thanks in advance!

	Hi,

Trying to get my bike trial ready again after a 10 year lay-off.

How do you remove the rear shock on an SY250?

I'm assuming once the bolt is out, both external spacers need to come out before the internal ones can be knocked out of the swing arm bracket. But could be completely wrong.

I've removed the external spacer on one side, but on the other it's completely stuck - not sure what to try aside from WD40, hammer etc

	Any help would be appreciated.

	Cheers,

My Scorpa TY175 (<s>1995</s> EDIT: 2005) died with gearbox damage.
The repair will take longer, if it is possible at all.
Hence my question: which engines fit in the frame? It should be a standard Yamaha engine in terms of dimensions? Are there perhaps cheap Chinese replicas that I can install first?
Even if it is 125ccm and the characteristics are not very typical for trials, I wouldn't mind.

Soo first I’d like to thank everyone who helped this novice mechanic figure out some stuff. After a month of waiting and trying to figure out how to get the actuator out which was surprisingly easy once it was explained, I believe I’ve fixed her. For the price of a cable actuator from the hell team in Australia. Would have been on the bike already with no issues if scorpa didn’t dick around and go hydraulic!!!!

Good news is. It’s still hydraulic. And thanks to China for making weird **** that costs 12$ USA. I need to fill the engine with motul transoil tomorrow and some coolant and see if my fix works. So far I can’t see why it wouldn’t!

Brief explanation of what I’ve done and my mildly insane way of thinking.

	1. Get actuator arm then freak out because there is no room for it with the mid exhaust shape.

	2. Freak out a bit because I haven’t a clue what I’m doing and think I need to tear down entire engine to get new actuator installed. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. It was quite simple. No issues and no loss of small ball bearing with the pushrod.

	3. Contact multiple people for possible welding of mid exhaust after planning on cutting it to make room for actuator. Final decision on that was mark the room needed with a black marker. Take to lawn which is softer than a workbench and beat with my #2 bronze mallet till it fit.

4 attach 12$ part. Pics to follow. Mess with washers and stuff so it won’t fall out. Fill line with fluid. Test. Adjust some more. Yell a bit at it with some not so nice words. Then cut some part of it so it fits. And connect to actuator. Pull lever. Presto!!!! Works visually so far. Tomorrow will tell.

5 post a 5 part post about what you did then add some pics.

Video wont upload of the hymec style hydraulic pull rod conversion part from China. But the pics are there. It’s not perfect but the bike would have been scrap and I didn’t pay much for it because of the slave ordeal. So if anyone else has a bike that they just want running and have no other ideas this is what I’ve done. It’s hack but I’m strangely proud of my old ass.

Thank you you everyone who replied to my other post of me asking for help. It’s much appreciated.

Hi, i bought my '06 scorpa (first trials bike) last year already with this problem, but i thought it was normal because trials bikes have more losen hydraulics. Right now only the spring is doing something, the hydraulic is not working at all. It's not leaking oil and i don't know even if it has oil in it maybe that's the problem, idk. Someone already has had this problem? What have you done to solve?
