	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I posted in the welcome area but thought I would start getting this thread caught up to where I am currently at on my restoration of my Bultaco Sherpa T 250. I have done many other restoration projects but this is my first motorcycle project
</p>

<p>
	The bike was originally purchased by my late Uncle Bud on August 21, 1970 (I have the original bill) and he used it mostly as a hunting bike as he had other bikes he used in trials riding. Fast forward to while I was in high-school it turned out my science teacher was the son of the Bultaco dealer for our area and knew my Uncle well
</p>

<p>
	From what my Dad told me Uncle Bud was 2nd or 3rd best in all of Ontario in numerous championships at the time. Time passed and the bike sat since I believe the 1980s. At the end of 2018/early 2019 Uncle Bud gave me the bike before he got sick, and I always told him one day I would fix it up. At that time I was 21 years old and in college and didn't have the funds or time to embark on fixing it. Due to his illness Uncle Bud's memory faded and I had his tired bike in the corner as I took car of his property/small farm and said I would fix it up. He ended up passing away in October of 2024, I left work that day and went to reflect out in the shop, and knowing that his celebration of life would be hosted within the next few days I rolled the Bultaco out and spent hours detailing it to surprise both my parents and our family
</p>

<p>
	I am still trying to learn the process of this forum so I hope I added the "barn find" pictures correctly
</p>

	I’m in the process of rebuilding the Spanish Amal 930 concentric on my 1971 Lobito 175 Mk4.  The needle jet is stamped 106A, and that’s what is listed in the owner’s manual as the correct jet.  Amal concentrics had long and short needle jets and some jets were for 4 stroke applications, with others being for two strokes.   I have seen lots of Amal needle jets for sale that are designated 106, but not 106A.  Does anyone know what the difference is?  Thanks for any help!<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="https://www.trialscentral.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2026_01/IMG_1950.jpeg.077e8a52fe29c7d7b2e97418cb813f48.jpeg" data-fileid="33634" data-fileext="jpeg" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="33634" data-ratio="75.00" width="1024" alt="IMG_1950.thumb.jpeg.244b8b04856e7df722a6812097f8c60d.jpeg" src="https://www.trialscentral.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2026_01/IMG_1950.thumb.jpeg.244b8b04856e7df722a6812097f8c60d.jpeg" /></a>

	Hello I have a model 92 Sherpa T 350 that I purchased as a basket case. I am trying to figure out if I have the correct rear brake plate. I have 2 rear brake plates but don’t really know how to tell if one of them is correct or not . I believe mine is an early 70’s model. Any help or pics you can post would be appreciated. I will see if I can some also.

	199A Rebuild progressed smoothly....until, the slightest tightening of the engine bolts and the ignition side crank flywheel is binding on the LH Crankcase.   Main bearings are where they should be and the crank belongs to this motor.  Any thoughts/suggestions please?

<p>
	Also the crank pin isn't flush with the crank halves, on the LH side which is fouling, it is recessed, on the other half it is very slightly proud.   Should it not be flush on both sides?

	A funny thing happened over the weekend, I was on a green lane and as we slowed down at the end of the track an elderly chap came out of a house, flagged me down and asked if I'd like to buy a bike (like you do). Of course it's always impossible to resist and he took me into his shed and showed me a tatty old Sherpa which he said had been stored for the past couple of decades by his brother who had passeed away. The bereaved's family were going to put the bike in a skip but thankfully he stopped them doing that and rescued it.
</p>

<p>
	I'm not too well up on Sherpas and it's a bit of a mystery to me, the chap thinks it might be a Sammy Miller High Boy but I'm not so sure. The last High Boy I owned was a TL 185 version back in the 80s and my memory ain't what it used to be.
</p>

<p>
	Anybody any ideas what this is? The frame number, stamped on the head stock, is B 9203012 and the motor is M-9203037. The fact that the frame number is so close to the engine number makes me wonder whether somebody has simply chromed a Bultaco frame.
</p>

<p>
	The tank unit is alloy and it has what looks like an original Sammy Miller sticker stuck to the underside.
</p>

<p>
	There is also a large '3' stamped on the top tube.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway, I've bought it!.

	Does any Bultaco expert know if the Matador Mk2 Model 16 (4 speed) CYLINDER is the same as the Sherpa T model 10?  My Model 16 cylinder has come to the end of its life.  I acquired the bike with a 74mm piston and now it needs another rebore.  Unfortunately, the commonly used Wiseco piston (that you need to cut 10mm off the inlet side of the skirt) don't come any larger than 74mm.  I contacted Wiseco and could make a batch of 12, but that's more than the bike is worth, and I don't have the upfront cash to hold them and try to sell the extras.  Also, I struck out on finding a cylinder liner.  So..... I have found a Sherpa Model 10 cylinder or jug as some people call it in good shape.  Of course, I'd fit it with a new piston.  I've only seen pictures of it, but it looks like it is the same as my Matador's cylinder.
</p>

<p>
	Can anyone confirm if they are the same cylinder?
</p>

<p>
	Thank you

	Arrived home from short ride out and she revved up for no appararent reason i immediately thought throttle stuck open but no, then quickly fiddled with cable at the carb but no, tried kill switch but no(even at idle would take a second or two to knock off need new switch perhaps) put into gear but just spun back wheel up ‘cos was on gravel so let front brake off and aimed for tree 2 yards in front phew that did it, now struggles to start sometimes gives a pop or a fart but no start and sometimes will run for a few seconds then if you give any throttle dies. I took carb off checked an cleaned it all ok taped up split hoses to airbox and inlet swapped plugs but still doing same, have i done any major damage? it probably all lasted for about 8 seconds

	Anyone know if the 4 speed Matador 200 has lower transmission gears (geared slower) than the Matador 250 (MK2/Model 16)?  I can't find any specifications (trans gear ratios) on either.  If yes, are the transmissions interchangeable?  Thanks.
