  1. hello, my son just started trials riding at the start of this year and has been using a beta 80. Most of this time he has been riding C class at local club trials. He is 14 years old and weighs approx. 7-8 stone. He is keen to get a 125cc bike but I wondered if this is to much to soon. If he did ride a 125cc would he still be allowed to ride C class. Any thoughts or opinions welcome. thanks

    Sherco 125

anybody got an opinion on a Sherco 125 2006. anything to be aware of as I am considering buying one. thanks
  4. what would cause that to happen?
  5. yes, but if I put my hand on the wheel to try and slow it down or stop it the engine stalls.
  6. hello all, I recently rebuilt my sons gas gas boy after replacing a broken gear selector shaft. When I start the bike and select a gear the rear wheel turns without needing to rev the bike. If I pull in the clutch lever the rear wheel keeps turning. I have rebuilt everything according to the diagrams provided by gas gas - I think. Any thoughts on why this is happening? cheers
  7. hello dadof2, checked out trialspar but they do not have a wiring diagram for the 2005 boy.
  8. thanks dadof2, my problem is that I don't know what is wrong or how to diagnose the fault. It may just be something simple.
  9. hello all, I stripped my sons gas gas 50 boy engine to replace a broken gear selector shaft. After rebuilding the engine I cant seem to get a spark at the spark plug. The engine started and ran ok up until the gear shaft breaking. So what have I done wrong or damaged. I am pretty certain I put all the wires back in the correct place - but there again maybe not. I also cleaned the earth leads as I was told on a previous post that this is a common problem on these bikes - still nothing. I cant see anything broken or damaged. When I stripped the engine I removed the stator (not realising this was unnecessary). I put it back in exactly the same position. I also read that others have removed the ignition system and fitted a better system - does anybody have any info on this. Any help is much appreciated.
  10. Does anybody know what oil to put in a 2006 (I think) rev 50 and how much? thanks
  11. thanks TLTEL, nothings cheap in this game. Malcolm
  12. Hello guys, yes, its the cork looking discs but they don't seem to be bonded to anything. thanks Malcolm
  13. Hello all, I stripped the clutch on my 1993 Contact. When I took the plates out there were rubber/plastic (?) type discs in between. When I cleaned the oil from them they broke apart (all of them). Can anybody tell me what they are called and if I can get replacements? thanks
  14. The rear wheel bearings on my sons rev 50 seem to be integrated with the spacers. Is this usual? I had thought the spacers and bearings were separate components. I need to change the bearings. thanks for any replies.
  15. thanks Lineaway and Laser1. I looked at the diagram and it shows that the hole passage hole is a simple passage from the resevoir to the chamber. I tried pushing a small needle through the hole but the needle just wouldnt push through. It seems the passage hole is not a direct vertical passage from the resevoir to the chamber. Do some of these passage holes turn to enter the chamber at an angle or further along the chamber towards where the hose attaches?
  16. cheers laser1, I think i,ve discovered the problem. Fluid does not seem to be able to move between the reservoir and chamber where the piston slides. Ant ideas how best to unblock it. Also what is the piston stop.
  17. thanks Dom, i tried Beta but they are out of stock. By the way i am in Fort William. Malcolm
  18. thanks Lineaway and Charlie i,ll try that. Malcolm
  19. Hello, Just fitted a new piston and springs to my clutch master cylinder but i cant seem to be able to bleed the system. I tried bleeding from the bottom up but can only get fluid as far as the point where the hose screws into the master cylinder. Can anyone advise if i need to prime the master cylinder and if so how do i do this. I tried putting fluid into the master cylinder and bleeding from the top down but nothing happens when i pump the lever. Any help/advice is appreciated. thanks Malcolm
  20. Do you know where I can get a water pump shaft for these bikes? cheersMalcolm
